People do realize it is going to take 3 years after we lose Mbye ,Packer ,Reynolds ,McQueen etc leave

I'm just not sure Madge is the answer ......Ok you'd go to Souths and take a chance with Madge's work ethic because you could see they were close to a premiership

But come to the WT's ...we are a hemisphere away from where Souths were when Madge took over and its probably 3 seasons until we even make the 8

That is what you have to get past in most players minds

I expect finals next year, anything less is a joke.

That’s pretty unrealistic IMO. Would have to be some amazing recruitment drive to make us into a top 8 team next year.

2022 is the year there’s no excuses for Madge, full salary cap control, squad he wants absolutely no excuses. Next year he’ll still be building us unfortunately but hopefully our squad looks a bit better

Seriously? Any team that can't make the finals for a decade in a competition where 50% of teams make the finals needs to have serious questions ask of it.

I agree, but looking at the big picture it would be pretty hard to take our team into the top 8 next season unless we sign some real quality. Unfortunately we only really started over last year when the new coach came in.

When we lost the players in 2017 that we had been paying on potential this forum was full of comments about us buying established players as the paying for potential failed, 3 years don't the track everyone wants us overpaying for potential because the buying established players has failed.

We also had people about 5 weeks ago sprouting how we had turned the corner, you being one of the main posters and now you are convinced we are 2 years from finals football. I was told I was wrong at the time for stating I will believe we have turned the corner when we make the finals. My expectations have not changed on that, the only indicator I'll accept is finals football, anything less is a failure.

Of course not making the 8 is a failure but you need to be realistic as well ..
Meanwhile nothing beats a good rant ..
We’ll get there...relax man .

We better get there. A few more years of missing the 8 and we’ll be at risk of being folded for sucking ?

Top 8 is a joke anyway
Should be top 5 like it used to be

Then we will never make it, we can't even make the 8, what the hell chance do we have of making the 5, Canterbury won it from 6th spot in 1995

I don't actually like the top 8 finals format, I actually hate it so much I once created an entire new top 8 format based on the old top 4 .

I remember agreeing with you about the fact that I won’t say we’ve turned the corner until we actually make finals, however I was very impressed at how Madge got the squad playing with so much effort and determination and we looked really good.

When people wanted established players I doubt they meant ridiculous overs for guys who haven’t been relevant for years, more like current good players. With our cap the way it is signing young guys is the only way.

Being realistic with our squad and salary cap the way it is there’s still a lot of changes to be made if we want to be consistent performers. Maybe we’ll get it done this off season but I get the feeling we won’t be able to offload all the duds before next year. I was always of the opinion it would take a long while for Madge or any coach to turn us around

A lot of people were very happy with those signings.

We were so young and optimistic ? we didn’t know the prices either

lol, I just think it is disappointing that this club has got to the point where it's supporters are writing off a season more than 6 months before the season commences and when the previous season hasn't even finished. Why would people even bother outlaying the thousand of $ they do if that is the expectation?

I don’t outlay anything...
Who would be silly enough to do that ?

Thousand of dollars every year here lol

I’m just a bandwagoner these days

The dumbest thing this club/ fans could do is not back the coach - especially now.
Look at the clubs that are top eight bound and who their top.tier players are- then look at ours. We need to right the wrongs and let the coach get on with doing his job.

Maybe the fans are backing the coach but not the players according to an article in today’s Tele.Saying there’s a lot of player unrest and a lot of disharmony behind the scenes and it’s showing in the side’s effort

They have an agenda and it is against us - because they get no exclusives.

Well Greenberg was gonna bring in a top 10 wildcard draw but you and your mates ousted him ?

It won't matter .....10th is a dream in 2020 ...top 13 maybe

Anyone and I mean ANYONE that believes one single thing that rag or any of it's
scribblers (because not one of them is a journalist) says, are just gullible fools.

They have an agenda and it is against us - because they get no exclusives.

That rag listed Nofoaluma at 450K when he re-signed..

So everything is sweet then nothing to see here just fake news, as is evident in the team’s performance

Seriously,Packer,Reynolds,Mcqueen, mostly injured in last 12 mths,Mbye stale and just going through the motions.Thats over approx 3 mil of salary cap lost to Mags to work with.No other coach could do more then he has at this time.Having patience and buying the right players and not panic buying is the way to go.This will take time, its not a quick fix.

We are not for example this season with COVID was able to roll over my membership for next season.
I told the Membership team that if we don't make finals i won't be renewing and unless there is a significant turn around next season i won't be financial again.

It's no so much the expectation but the excuses put up that does my head in.

Maybe not footy wise, but they get exclusives direct from our nation's ministers, even if also fabricated.
