Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

Woods on breakfast radio. I'd be very surprised if he does not sign with dogs. Sounds like club taking hard stance. Woods said he wanted to press conference after bulldogs game but club informed him that given him night off. He said that in the sense it would not bothered him to go press conference with all the drama and was the clubs call. Said had not signed with dogs or tigers or anyone yet but will do soon. My sense dogs.

After reading chammas SMH article saying his dirty we put deadline.

I heard his interview too, just took it as the coach knowing man management and how tough woods has had it. Might have been a player welfare call. Didn't sound like woodsy argued the point.

Interesting was the contract chat again. He kept throwing the name Tigers into the mix, but then agreed that the tigers had pulled the offer and he 'had to move on'. I'm really not sure why he would keep throwing the tigers name in the mix if it wasn't still an option.

I think the tigers have just said that they are going to start recruiting from the player market, but if Ted and woods get in before they find replacements, then the deal will be back on the table. I noticed Egan's terminology when explaining it saying 'they are now active in the player market'

Time to start spending our cap space on the future and move on from both Woods and Teddy. They both had plenty of time to sign or even go to the club and tell them their situation and ask for a extension. The club needed a answer and they did not have the common curtesy to even talk to the club, so lets move on and get excited about some new faces around the joint

Its possible they didn't want to say no and close the door supercoach. To be honest, if that was their stance, no reply is the only way to go about it. I've been starting to look at it a bit differently recently.. I just don't think it was a lack of respect.

great thing is Des is gonna be a natual liar when it finally becomes official. it was funny to see him go no with a smile on his face he clearly knows Woods has signed.

I am hoping Cleary is wait for the Official 'Official' singing and sack him as captain

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Canterbury low balled him now.

- Tigers pull contract, sign Big Ben;
- Canterbury: "Sorry Aaron, we're over the cap, we can only offer you this much now."
- Woods: "Aw &^%$…"

The Dogs stitched up Fifita a couple of years ago & he had to go back to the Sharks & take less .

with the tigers withdrawing their offer it means that the players are now susceptible to this happening. They went from having the power to basically throwing it away

If I recall from Kelly Egan's interview last week on Triple M, he said something along those lines, that the offers were withdrawn but that didn't mean they couldn't negotiate in future with these players, just those specific deals were gone and they were going to focus on replacing talent because the market was drying up.

It's certainly setting up for this as a possibility if they haven't already signed, and if they really were promised somewhere close to what we were offering (in Woods' case anyway). A promise or "agreement to terms" will mean nothing if the Bulldogs are over the cap. It's just stupid to offer him anywhere near 900k if there's no counter offer (ours being taken off the table).

Yes you are right

The Offers have been withdrawn but that doesnt mean the club wont sign them (Him) should the player wants to stay

They could still have kept the door wide open if they had gone to the club and said, look their are a couple of things in the pipeline can you give us another 10days and we will have a answer 100%. I am sure the club would have said okay, but all bets are off in 10 days if you don't give us a answer. To say nothing has done their brand name not a lot of good, but as we all know things get forgotten very quickly in NRL circles

They could also have signed with no cooling off period like Nofa did .

Rubbish

Only passionate players would do that

Wests Tigers skipper Aaron Woods to reveal NRL future this week

DEPARTING Wests Tigers captain Aaron Woods is set to reveal if he’s to join NRL rivals Canterbury by the end of the week.

The NSW forward has been linked to the Bulldogs since the Tigers withdrew their contract extension offer last week.

“I haven’t done anything yet,” Woods told Sky Sports Radio on Wednesday.

“I’ll be closer to announcing what I’m doing probably later on in the week.

“I haven’t agreed or signed with Tigers or Bulldogs or anyone.”

Woods also shed light on his Tigers exit, expressing a desire to put his contract dramas to bed after he and fullback James Tedesco failed to meet a club-imposed deadline to re-sign last Friday.

He was subject to boos from the crowd during the weekend’s win over the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium Woods ruled out any chance of himself or the Tigers backflipping to extend his stay at the club into an eighth season.

“No, they’ve scrapped it, mate,” he said.

“They spoke to my management earlier in that week and our management told them we wouldn’t be ready to make a decision by the end of the week.

“It is what it is and you just have to move on from it now.”

I think the Bulldogs offer of 900k for Woods was thrown out there to entice Woods but also stuff up the WTs. It was designed at destabilising the Tigers. The WTs were smart in taking away the offers to Woods as it has left the Dogs in a bad position. As they are going to have to pay overs for Woods.
I guess we are doing something similar to them with the Reynolds offer, by throwing a huge offer out there.

Yeah mate, makes me furious (even more)

If he is about to announce by the end of the week, looks like signed the contract two weeks ago.

Looks like he is just trying to save face by saying the club left him no option in the end.

Good luck to him, hope he is happy with his decision.
