Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

Not as captain but he has always been a hard worker (except for getting back on side) so he deserves to stay at a fair price. All that TV and contractual speculation are only bum fluff compared to on the field.

I really can't believe some of the comments made about Woods by supporters. He is a fine player and our only Kangaroo. No doubt he will be one of the first picked for the Kangaroos (again).

Woods is the best front rower we are likely to have for the next few years whether he signs or not.

If it is a problem, it is easily fixed - stand down as captain (let someone else take over) and get on and "play good footy."

Simples.

So Woods is staying?

Clear as mud Watto.

I do feel for Woodsy, probably not the best him sitting next to James graham. They are chalk and cheese responses.

Bit like the court room scene from the Aussie movie Gettin Square, when David Wenham's character Johny Spits is being questioned by the QC. Awkward and as funny as all heck.

If you haven't seen the movie do your self a favour, David Wenham should have won multiplayer awards for his role in the movie.

You can tell the worth of a player by how the team goes when he isn't on the field. When Woods is of the field we lose alot of our go forward. Id love him to stay. I just have a feeling the longer this goes the more likely we keep him and Teddy. All this media linking them two as a package is incorrect as Woods said this morning on sky sports radio he will do whats best for him and that doesnt involve tedesco.

Woods would be a great loss, week in week out he leads the metres gained in the forward pack. 971 so far this year, the closest to him is Sue with 606\. Lot of talk about loyalty, how much loyalty was shown to Farah and Sironen? Understandable if they all left chasing the money, they all know they would be thrown under the bus if circumstances changed. Sad to see Moses leave, it would be terrible to see Tedesco and Woods also leave, but the way Taylor and the board conducted themselves last year was nothing short of disgraceful. How much is that going to affect their decision?

Farah I will concede, but Sironen? Sironen did nothing of note to warrant any further loyalty from the club. The club showed loyalty by paying him good coin for five years under three coaches and got zero development out of him. He'd ran his race here. Good for him if he is performing at Manly, we would never have seen that here.

The hate for woods on here baffles me completely. Solid forward, consistently makes great metres, misses few tackles. My mates who are dogs supporters would love to have him there, only people who seem to not rate him are tigers fan. Who cares what his hair cut is, who cares if he has had a shave, he always consistently gives 100% on the field. If we do lose him, despite everyone saying there are better options, there really isn't a prop who we could get for close to the same money for similar effect.

All our fans seem to want are 'mongrel' forwards. Matt Scott isnt a mongrel forward, yet I doubt anyone here would not rate him as one of if not the best top prop in the game. Mongrel means great highlight reels but often inconsistent performances each week or even within a game. Outside from JWH not a single mongrel forward id consider swapping woods for. Our club just needs consistent forwards who can put in each game and work well as a unit, not highlight reel players.

So how do you gauge the worth of backs and halves?

"Arrrrrm…i havent sat down with my manager even though this has been going on for months and im sick of the conjecture"...."arrrrmmmm i just worry about footy"...arrrrrrm no one really cares what i do so im gonna drag it out"

Its a joke all right. Its not a difficult decision. Hes not going to move house. Just change teams or stay.would take me a day to decide. Bullshit how he goes on about how hes over it. Mate youve had this contract on the table for 6 months. Cant be too over it..

Elijah taylor got sick of him manager dragging it on with the club so he went straight to the head office and signed on the dotted line after an hour of deliberation.. Not that difficult is it????!!!

I think it shows that he wants to leave and he drawing it to cover that fact. have always liked woods but iam over him, having a contract for 6 months is just crap, either sign it or piss off.

That's why, if Woods does re-sign with Wests Tigers, he needs to be relieved of the club captaincy. He has trouble making decisions on and off field and is lax in coming forward with verbal inspiration for his team mates.

X2 !!

If he's too busy to sit down with his manager, axe just one media commitment for one week! Sheesh Woodsie, this is getting ridiculous. You've only got yourself (or your manager) to blame.

Taylor started a cultural shift, but it looks like it needs a lot more work yet. Good luck cleary - kick them off the bus.

Very hard for Woods to come up trumps next to James Graham - just an impressive bloke.
Not too much wrong with Woods tonight a bit of foot in mouth when asked the tricky questions but if you had it in for him as some seem to have at the moment, he provided opportunity to dig the boot in with some ordinary responses.
Got to do better Woodsy to get the mob back on side.

i dont get it all.
some of you must just seriously hate woodsy or are so frustrated with the whole thing that your all jumping at shadows.

yeah, he dosnt speak "eloquently" - ok fare enough
i thought he was honest.
some of the things he said about making decisions when your in a bad frame of mind were absolutely correct… yeah its a bit dumbed down but it was simple and for me anyways, i preferred it.

lets be honest - the 4 of them didnt sign because they didnt have any confidence in the coach.
thats as clear as day now.
dosnt that also explain why its taken so long ???
and now, yeah...lets see... a few wins... a good team environment .. a good understanding of the new coach and who knows ....id like to think its 50/50 and in that scenario... take a few more weeks if we get a better result ! ! !

people seem to forget, in his entire time as the captain - hes been soaked in controversy.
hes had zero time to warm into it
hes been on the backfoot the entire time
hes doing his best not to fan the flames because we all know he knows alot more than what he says openly..... but stilll..... not good enough aye ??

i mean come on... some of you are talking up james Graham like hes a class act...
he talks well, but hes the type of man the bit another players ear off in a game... a big game...
have you all forgot or do you think "speaking well" justifies being an absolute grub.

yeah yeah, woodsy hasnt decided.. hes had plenty of time... hes a trator if he leaves... how could he.... blah blah blahhhh ....

but what if he stays !
will some of you sorry whingers put your tales back between your legs and start grovelling at how hes the man again. i bet you, you will. sad !

Speaking for myself, i've never grovelled to him. I've always thought he was a buffoon who should get a haircut and have a shave. My opinion won't change whether he re-signs or not because imo he should have already re-signed months ago. If anything it would only lower my opinion of him further as re-signing earlier could have avoided our season being derailed. He hardly deserves to be applauded for re-signing now. The horse has bolted and the damage is done as far as i am concerned.

Yeah unfortunately now, whatever his decision I can see it being very uninspiring.. He stays - cool, leaves - whatever. I honestly don't care, I just want to know what the future of our club looks like and that can't happen while these decisions drag on for a record amount of time.

Im talking about Woods as a forward. You dont notice a drop in the team when he comes of fhe field? I certainly do. It cant be a fluke that he plays for NSW or Australia, there must be a reason for it.
