This would've been awesome news if we had a replacement, but we don't so don't know how to feel about this tbh. Something tells me Taylor is lining up a few good signings for the 2016 season.

Sure, Tony we take the wooden spoon in 2015 and top players will be rushing to sign with us for unders for 2016\. Imagine the savings the club has made by not signing players for 2015 - Huh?

Taylor says we won't be making any major signings for 2015, but if Blair only had 1 year left on his contract why have we released him?
He would have been off contract the following year anyway, either way he have more money to sign players for 2016, but releasing Blair means we now have a disastrous looking back row next year.

Blair may have been backloaded, either a large amount or small for his final year. There may be other contracts in the club that are due to upgrades etc. Or maybe we had arranged some of our younger guys to be backloaded for 2016 and beyond in order to keep them here, but letting Blair go means we don't have to do that.

Releasing Blair now may have allowed the acceleration of a new strategy or relief for 2015\. Or maybe Blair had some big bucks on offer from Bennett and wanted out?

The only thing that gives me a bit of hope out of all this is that Taylor, Moss and Co must have known what they were getting themselves into cap wise before taking on these gigs. What Penrith went through shedding players was similar to what we are seeing at the Tigers. That seems to have worked out OK for the Panthers after a couple of years, but it is pretty clear that 2015 is a write-off for us.

Thing is even when Panthers were releasing Jennings, Lewis, Gordon etc they still signed some decent NRL standard players - Segeyaro, Sika Manu, Lewis Brown, Whare to complement their kids. We haven't made those sort of solid signings.

Next year looks like there'll be 14/17 players in the NRL squad under the age of 24, most of whom under 22, which is just too imbalanced. We need some experienced NRL quality starters, having your starting lineup and backups all being kids is way too risky.

The club's action today are a sign of financial desperation. Instead of pulling the jumper over the supporters' eyes why doesn't the club be honest and come out and say outright that Blair was released because the club is CAP BROKE and even though Blair has been released CANNOT AFFORD to buy any further new players for 2015.

They're like that mate who doesn't admit to having no money until you actually get to the bar, so it's all just awkward.

You should ask Seinfeld about the club being broke . He was banging on recently about how Mayer had turned us into a financially solid club. . Someone must have wads of money in their desk drawer then, because it's Not going on players.

The Broncos pack alone must be on more than our entire team. McGuire, Parker, Thaiday, Gillett, Glenn and now Blair. Then throw in Hodges, Boyd and Milford and there's absolutely no chance.
Something has to be done with the salary cap because this isn't even close to an even field.

Lots of possible reasons but you tell me one supporter who knows the real reason/s. The reality is there is none because the club is keeping his financial mess completely under covers and leaving the supporters to stew by themselves.

Lots of possible reasons but you tell me one supporter who knows the real reason/s. The reality is there is none because the club is keeping his financial mess completely under covers and leaving the supporters to stew by themselves.

No club opens their books to be critiqued by outsiders. The best we get is a summation or a few general comments. Its par for the course across the NRL.

Their is the problem, the club was punting on a few contracted players going elsewhere for 2015, but no other club has wanted their services.

You put our top 25 against most other sides in the comp and you would expect to have a million dollars up your sleeve, who is getting the money?????
