Adam Blair

I missed todays game due to work and not really keen on watching a loss at moment with us only scoring the one 4 pointer. But how did Adam Blair go against us?

I am a fan of his but since I heard we were talking to him I have payed more attention to him and haven't been that impressed, possibly due to all the talk of his future. How did he go today?

Not much impact. I thought he looked a lot like Bryce Gibbs out there to be honest. The Tigers forwards were definitely aiming at him and he took it all pretty well. Got through a lot of work and pulled off a really good defensive play knocking the ball away from Fifita on the break. Pretty good.

I think he looks tired. Maybe he is handling a lot more responsibility with the no names in the storm pack.

Anyway he did a good steal on Fifita…..good for them I mean...

He made lots of hard yards,no errors that I can remember. He is a pro like our big pom and will be a massive signing for our blokes.

Blair is a solid 1st grader, but not a patch on Ellis for impact & work-rate.Galloway has more impact than Blair(if & when he plays).
Ive been watching Blair closely all season,& Im still not sure what all the fuss is about
Sure he's better than Gibbs & co,but hope is not costing anywhere near the $500k quoted. He's not gonna be the catalyst for change in this team

Blair is the sort of player that will actually suit the Tigers. He is a fantastic ball player, has an uncanny knack to stand in tackles and offload. Also has a great late offload and is an 80 minute player with fantastic lateral movement and defense. He'll do wonders for the Tigers around him. He has been very average this year but the Storm's style of play isn't playing into Blair's strengths.

I agree that Ellis > Blair but Ellis > than every forward in the game.

I also think Blair might suit us. I think we might end up with a pack of no frills type players that always go forward, defend well and bust the line every so often to score a try.

I hope if he signs we haven't paid him what has been said but if he comes at a fair price I think he is consistently better than Fifita and Gibbs.

I think he has an excellent play of the ball. On almost every occasion he got very quick play of the balls and allowed space for smith or a good roll on for the next ruck

I would guess that Galloway ran a lot further per carry today than Blair. Blair looked solid without doing anything extraordinary…Except when he punched the ball out of Fifita's hands- and that was a lucky play because the ball could just as easily gone to one of the WTs in the vicinity but it went straight to Slater and got them out of trouble.

Not one Storm forward made over 100 metres in attack today, and Slater was the only player to make over 100 metres in their entire team today. Says a lot for how good their defence was.

I thought Blair was average. Didn't stand out but came up with an important play when he punched the ball out of Fifita's hands when the Tigers had the Storm stretched.

Looks un-energetic and disinterested.
Maybe he is turning into a smart player instead of the impact player that I thought he was?

Overall, I couldn't tell much from his performance today.

you missed a player that showed no desire to make the hard yards.waited till late in the set to take on the line.

i haven't said anything about us signing him as i only watch tigers games.
i've never seen him do anything against us over the years to make me say i wish we had him in the team.
yesterday was no different.
he must be one hell of a player every other week to become a must have player for the tigers.

can someone tell me what he brings that we need.
i thought maybe his stats would show something different but all i see is 76 yards a game, less than 2 offloads a game and 1 line break all year.

i just don't get it,nothing that i see adds up.
i was at least hoping to see him lead from the front, nope.

And how good Melbournes kicking game is . I dream ours could be half as good Willow

Also people saying that Blair tackle count is low . I would not run at him His defence is quality not quantity . Plenty of other blokes for that .

and maybe …. he is over the storm and just making up the numbers ....they obviously dont want him at their club ... a change is as good as a holiday......

blair is quality, and played well is not amazing yesterday, i hope we get him, he will be another string to our bow
