So is Madge admitting his training methods of the past are wrong ??? Again??? as he said he had learnt from his time at the Bunnies after he had signed with us ???

The players have said they’re still training at very high intensity, it’s not really ‘relaxed training’ despite what the headline says, sounds like they’re just trying to have a little more time off and make better use of their breaks when they can

Less meetings ......Madge and his Uncle Brian Smith are known to have more meetings than the AJC

Again you could see the players looked mentally and physically drained the week before the Warriors games ..but the coach took 2 more weeks to notice it ...one injury cost us the one player who may have got us to the semis ......

All the other big teams can handle the training. Boys just didn’t show up on the field, every single week they all talk about how good training is but it’s not showing up on the field, it’s more mental than anything, hence ‘less meetings’.

No not all the coaches ..they manage the loads better ...The Storm and Roosters lessen the load and then ramp it up again with about 6-8 weeks left ...funnily enough most rugby league clubs train players like Olympic swimmers .....hard off season lighten off before trials ramp up big before the Olympics and then back off again just before Olympics

Plenty of players have said it’s no tougher than any other club they’ve been at. It’s no excuse, the players went out there and didn’t have a dig that’s on them.

It is different ....must clubs now are ramping up their training loads ...madge is lightening up the load now

Tell me I was wrong ...we looked cooked v the Warriors

We’ve had games like that for the last 10 years, rock up against teams we should beat and don’t look like we’re even trying. No matter what coach we’ve had that’s happened.

Again, training isn’t any less intense, they’re training just as much at a high intensity, just trying to make better use of their off time and if there’s a longer turnaround between games have one session that’s a little relaxed. No major different to actual training

So Aloiai , Grant ,Lucy , didn't have their worst games of the season v teh Warriors because they were gone

The whole team had one of those games, I’ve seen it a million times before, don’t do anything all game and try win it with 5 minutes left and score points then. . Those three were still our best players but it was a vintage tigers performance

It came because they had come off games against Penrith and Parra and they were mentally /physically shot

Grant should of been rested ...and seeing madge couldn't see that our season is cooked

Grant still played better than his ? replacement, whoever it would've been.

And busted himself up ......was it worth it with the run we had coming up

You can get injured in any game of footy... you don’t rest players against weaker teams because you’ve got harder games coming up, that’s the opposite type of mentality we’re trying to build

Yet Melbourne rested players v the Dogs ...Munster said if had of been a semi Smith would have played ...Roosters have rested Flanagan and Cordner ...Koraisai (despite somone saying he'd be out for 6 weeks ) rested ....the best sides do it ....

Flanagan was dropped the coach confirmed that. Cordner is being rested due to multiple concussion and Korisau had an elbow injury that put him out a few games. Cameron Smith still isn’t playing either due to injury

Yeah OK ...a coach isn't going to admit he rested a player ...would be like sticking rocket fuel into the opposition coaches pre match speech ...they don't even rate you ...they are resting players .....

Anyways ...ignoring happy’s whinging ...

If Doohey was any more relaxed he’d have a banana lounge strapped to his back .

No turn of foot = no threat at fullback

He has a good turn of pace when fit. Add to that his height he is a difficult player to contain.

He is fit
Stop making excuses for him ..

Ha, it is pretty obvious he is playing injured.

Ingrown toenail?

Ankle injury requiring surgery in off season according to the Club's liaison on the Forum. Are you Hobbo's brother or brother in law?

Just his lovechild... Why do you ask ?

I agree with Josh, you are making a whole heap of assumptions off one match.

Yeah Tigers looked fatigued against Warriors, any number of reasons for that, and one of the obvious reasons was the big match against Parra the week prior. Parra themselves battled against the Dogs the following week.

Tigers looked fine in terms of fitness against Parra and obviously ran riot against Broncos.

I refuse to believe that a team that can almost match Parra for 80 mins in 2020, and in fact finish the stronger / faster side in chasing points, is some how suddenly over-coached or over-trained because they then have a poor match.

What a dud article maybe AD should concentrate on his positional play than talking to the Media.
We all know he is not a long term fullback option but a 5/8.
Relaxed is not what the supporters were with 10 mins left.

Next King of Leichhardt? Doueihi ready for Teddy duel

As one-time Leichhardt Oval fan favourite James Tedesco prepares to return, Wests Tigers fullback Adam Doueihi wants to ensure his time in the No.1 jersey is a long-term proposition.

Tedesco will make his first return to the suburban venue on Saturday night against the club he spent six years with before moving to the Roosters in 2018.

While the departure of Tedesco still stings for many at the Wests Tigers, Doueihi is using the superstar's game to build on his own.

"I've watched a lot of vision on Teddy, especially in the pre-season and being at the back now you appreciate it even more," Doueihi told NRL.com.

"A lot of his work is freakish with the plays he comes up with and his positional play. He just pops up at the right time in attack and defence.

"As a whole, I've been happy with what I'm contributing to the team. It's tiring but good, I feel like the fitness levels are getting better each week and the positional stuff I'm learning on the run, picking up different things I'm doing right and wrong.

"Teddy does all that stuff really well. I also do a lot with [assistant coach and former fullback] Brett Hodgson and he's been huge in our reviews. His knowledge is first class and he's been great for me."

Doueihi, the Balmain junior who returned to the club this season after three-years at South Sydney, was a playmaker stuck behind Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks coming through the club's junior system.

However, Tedesco's departure essentially opened the door for the club to chase him – albeit two years in the making.

His versatility value even saw the Lebanon international linked with the Tricolours at the start of the season when his release from the Rabbitohs was confirmed.

"There was a bit of chat about me going to the Roosters when I was about to come here but it was just a bit of rubbish," Doueihi said.

"It's a massive club for me to be mentioned in the same breath with, they've got a great system with a great coach in Robbo but I am happy and enjoying learning my role [at Wests Tigers]."

On Saturday night the Roosters will be without stars including Luke Keary, Daniel Tupou, Angus Crichton and Boyd Cordner.

"They are a quality opposition who are in the position they are in for a reason," Doueihi said.

"They've got a game plan that works and players who do a job for them. This is the part of the season now where it doesn't matter how ugly it looks you must come away with the two points and we're in a position where we must do that."

I don't like him talking down the Tigers when reflecting on the roosters chat.

He's not wrong. They are a professional organisation and we aren't at their level yet.

I'm not sure but it seems to me he struggles to set the defensive line from the back and he has 0 support play. From what I have seen he isn't our long term 1 but I'm happy to be proven wrong

Doesn't look like it if he's trying to play like him

Gee AD take your hand off it, your not in the same league as Teddy. In reality you doing an OK job at fullback but as we all know your positional play is not great and you have no real speed to break the line. On a positive note your better under the high ball and you have a good pass when in the attacking line.
We tend to see you as a 5/8 or Centre, hope you play well.
