Addo Carr signs with Storm...

Very disappointing.
We got lured into a bidding war in re-signing Kyle Lovett - but we draw the line for the only promising outside back we have on the books? Strange decision.
A small thing in the grand scheme of things perhaps, but it's emblematic of the self inflicted troubles the club keeps finding themselves in.

I had thought our retention team had been doing quite a good job up until now. But this SUCKS!
Whether Taylor was dithering about deciding on whether he wanted to keep him or not, or whatever the reason, this is an idiotic 'miss' by the club - again!

now that it is confirmed that JAC has signed with the storm and Fine has been released, why not just release all the players, and M/S GO and JT and the rest of the board can piss off and go and do something else because it appears u have no idea in running a football team, what a bunch of MORONS.

I am guessing that you do not agree with their plan for the future. Perhaps you wish to continue paying players with so called "potential" overs? Or how about getting our salary cap both for first grade and the second tier in order? Or sorting out our ludicrous "home grounds"?

Tell us how you would go about approaching corporations for third party payments. What would you offer them? Who would you approach? What players would be on offer to them? Who do you recruit that the club needs? How much would you pay them and for how long?

How would you ensure that Wests Ashfield continue to fund the club?

No doubt there are many more problems that need attention.

So, instead of bashing everything and everyone at the club, let's hear your solution to these and other problems that are holding us back.

PS. As well as telling all of us on this forum, you can forward your solutions to the club itself. I'm sure they would be grateful.

Hmm, I'd love to see Mansour at the club but it defies all logic to pay the sort of money he can now command when we could have kept JAC for half of that (probably half anyway).

there is a massive difference between JAC and mansour though. one is a proven NRL and an already origin/national rep. the other has made a big difference in the state cup team.

The way in which Pascoe worded his statement shows that they know they've done the wrong thing and possibly made a mistake. Defensive, on the back foot because they know anyone with half a brain would think it was a bad idea to let him go. We won't find a better replacement.. I hope JAC was asking for 500K+ because less than that is starting to look value.. Only time will tell.

really 500K for a guy who's played 4 first grade games?
i think im gonna go insane- he's a loss coz currently we don't have any good wingers but honestly, i feel like people are reacting as if we've lost teddy. JAC may go on to be a brett morris or a blake ferguson (at the best), but currently, he's just a state cup player.

No, I don't think he's value at 500, I said less than that. I'm hoping that's what it took to take him off our hands though. If the storm have picked him up for 350K or around that mark then I think they've done alright. Yes, he isn't a proven success, but he does have talent and the physical attributes that suggest he could be a star.. I don't think the same can be said for 90% of our current roster.

As others have already said, if he really wanted to stick around he could have waited a bit longer and tried to prove himself worthy of a contract.

I'm at a loss why the club would not try and hang onto the best winger it has. It's not like we have any wingers setting State Cup and NYC alight.

Ryan Papenhuyzen will be one to watch.

On the contrary you're potentially only ever one tackle away from a career ending injury. He'd be looking to lock up his future quick smart I'd say.

I am sure i will "watch" him go to the storm while management argue about paying him another 1k

That's true as well. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.
If he doesn't turn out to be as good as most people think he wouldn't be the first. Bellamy should be good for him though.
3 clubs in 3 years already for him.

agree with sabre and with you too that he has every right to lock up his future. but that doesn't mean WT have to sign up a winger or "assure" him of a position when he hasn't proven anything in first grade. the storm are willing to do that because they have a good record with developing fringe players into real first graders and they believe in their system.

I don't disagree with that, he should certainly have to prove himself. He shouldn't be castigated for making sure he gets the best deal for his future though.

Oh, I'm certainly not castigating him. I'm just saying some of the criticism of WT over it is a bit over the top.

there should be no criticism towards the club at all actually.
they did whatever they could to try and keep him.
the way it was described to me was its more of a case of how much he could develop under their coach compared to how scared he was of un-developing under the tigers coach
money and winning aside, pretty fare reasoning….....

Its getting harder and harder to support this club. We just seem to wallow in mismanagement and poor decision making. Yet every time we let a player go who actually looked like they could do something people get on this forum and say" he wasn't that good anyway" . Where is the line in the sand drawn? Austin, Koribeiti, Addo Carr, Martin …… the clubs decision making about who goes and who stays is amateur hour stuff
