Addo Carr signs with Storm...

Storm sign Addo-Carr
Melbourne Storm have signed Wests Tigers flyer Josh Addo-Carr on a three-year deal. Addo-Carr is one of the fastest men in the NRL and is a handy replacement for rugby-bound winger Marika Koroibete. The Storm were hopeful of getting their man before the June 30 deadline but the Tigers won't provide an early release.

So you're telling me that JAC wasn't as worthy of first grade as Milone or Rankin?? If you've been a fan of JT's team selections you would be in a minority.

Well if you can't see the reasoning behind the JAC scenario - we'll leave it at that.

Milone plays in the centre and Rankin is a goalkicker who did the job.

I am totally ok with the JAC scenario - if he turns out to be a mercenary like Koro then so be it.

So much for the family being Tigers supporters and "I have always wanted to play for the Tigers", I'll put in the effort in the lower grade and learn as much as I can and work my way into the team - obviously if he goes, around 10 games is the ambition.

If you can't wait 7 games to play NRL - then see ya.

Personally I think the Storm stories are coming from nursery rhymes.

Exactly.

Anyone who thinks JAC left because he didn't get a go in the first seven rounds after just graduating NYC hasn't been around a football team before. Chee Kam was different. He has been out of NYC for a while and understandably feels he needs to playing firsts by this age. JAC is still learning his craft.

I haven't been around a football team before???
:roll

Sorry Russ, they're all mercenary? They're professional footballers, they get paid to play.good luck to him if he goes. But if the club baulked at the money he wanted( allegedly) then they are still idiots.
Hope they saw Marikas performance against Penrith tonight. Someone must have taught him to tackle, pity we didn't have the Coaches with the ability to improve a player, maybe we should loan Broses to the storm for a year and get them coached.
Sorta like outside tutoring. Bellamy might throw in a couple of coaching lessons for Taylor for free

What, to teach him to invent chicken wings, grapples, squasher and crusher tackles. And blatantly cheat the Cap(oh,that's right he had no idea they were cheating the Cap)

In my view if he has signed with the storm he should have played Ron Massey Cup today. Zero loyalty. Why drop rankin who was outstanding last week for a bloke who has no interest in being here. Just my opinion

We have a kid who grew up supporting the club, a genuine NRL crowd pleaser with speed to burn who wanted to stay, he didn't want the earth to re-sign, so one wonders how we got to this stage. :crazy

Gods Knows 851 coz us fans cant figure it out

I have a fair idea of what prompted him to start to look around at other options. :astonished:

His boyfriend Rankin was more important .

JT is not a Coach never has been and never will be , there's a reason why they probably want Buckets so in his face in every move .
How long did it take him to realize that Sirro wasn't 1st Grade standard or what about leaving Buchanan on the bench for 80 Minutes or Cherrington playing about 40 minutes in total over 4 games , JT is seriously clueless anyway and i can't wait for him to get the Hell out of the place .

Said with such passion. Love it FT. :supporter:

Sporting news reporting that JAC has signed a 2 year deal with storm and although he wants out the cooling off period has expired and has to see out his contract with storm. Apparently signed the contract when frustrated with the tiger's leaving him out of the NRL team. If this ia true it really shows how incompetent our club is. A club in another state can see his potential and our officials see his ability almost every single day but have no idea

And that's exactly why JT has to go, everybody on this forum have been able to see his team selections were a joke until things were changed a couple of weeks ago and now we are losing players cause of his inability to drop and pick players on form. The bloke is a complete tool and totally incompetent.

JT on the Coaching Insider sounded really disappointed that Rankin was dropped.
Definitely one of his favourites. I doubt it was his decision to drop him and keep JAC.

Its all about priorities and leaving wingers until last makes sense. The issue is we are loosing low cost wingers with huge upside which, is concerning. (Koro & JAC). It does not make sense for a young club building a roster. The blind support of Rankin would have contributed and I suspect the delay in Moses and Brooks taking options along with resigning of forwards would have played a part.

There is a bigger issue at play and that is the release of players that have potential but NEED COACHING.
Problem is Taylor is not qualified to shine Bellamys shoes.

So is JAC actually going to the Storm or not? I sure as hell hope not because that boy is gonna be a star and losing him now will definitely come back to bite us on the a…orta!

Yep, it will come back to bite us…Right there  OUCHEES

All the talk is he's agreed to go but is now trying to stay. Still no announcement from storm. Seems like they are working it out

The longer this gets drawn out the better it looks for us imo. What's that old saying about no news being good news. It would take time to negotiate a release than come to terms to a contract with us. Fingers and toes crossed that that is why both clubs have remained silent the last couple of weeks.

I've said many times that JAC is a potential game breaker, if he isn't already. Blind Freddy could see his talent with the way he was tearing it up in NSW Cup. It's absolutely absurd that he wasn't given more opportunities in the top grade earlier. Arguments put forward by posters included that he needed more experience, better defense, blah, blah, blah. What a load of rubbish. How is he supposed to get more experience unless he's blooded in the top side? In his handful of games he has shown he is outstanding under the high ball, a dynamo in attack and that he can defend. Not only that but he's combative and a bit feisty - just what you want in a young winger. Now that he seems to have been given his rightful spot ahead of Rankin, we learn that he has probably gone. And why? Because of the stubborn, short sighted attitude of Taylor. The comment that he is only a winger is nonsense too. You cannot coach speed, raw ability or some of the skills JAC demonstrated in the last game. The Tigers need speed out wide, a player to finish off moves and someone other than Tedesco to run the length of the field. Additionally, wingers do much more than finish these days, including taking settlers down their end and JAC has shown he can do this. This latest failure to hang on to young talent, hot on the heels of the Koro and Martin departures, has annoyed me big time. The club couldn't find an extra 20 000 or whatever it was to keep a player who clearly wanted to be at the club???? Have I missed something?

No, to see him smash Penrith with great defence throughout the game .
I I agree that Bellamy is a grub.
But I wouldn't care if he was Attila The Hun, if he could get Players to to play like Koro did last night , we certainly don't have anyone who can change much
But don't worry" it's not as bad as it seems"
Taylor says so.

A bit quick to blame the coach and/or WT at this stage, with Joshua and particularly his manager jumping the gun. If he was going to a local Sydney club I could partially understand his premature decision, but an interstate move away from family and friends is a big one when your current club is interested in extending a deal. Very poor advice for mine.

He was fresh out of NYC, with several games against some men in state cup after being given a shot in the nines with the club he apparently has a passion for and would almost certainly been aware that he would be considered for a top grade run whilst working on particular areas of his game. He has since been given that opportunity.

Like most, I trust that all will work out for Joshua and he gets to stay with family and the club he loves.

His passion for playing Rankin on the wing( out of position) is probably what got us to this situation

Yes, let's hope that his change of heart means a contract with the Tigers. Agreed, Gold Coast Tiger, my point was that Taylor should have picked him in first grade/ persisted with him much earlier. Of course other keen judges of talent such as Bellamy were going to sniff around and offer him a first grade opportunity and the Tigers should have moved into second gear more quickly.

GCT,we have agreed and disagreed on many occasions, this is another time I have to disagree with your comment on Rankin..In my opinionJordan has done a pretty good job in a position he is unfamiliar with,he was put there because the halves positions are taken by our potential,Rankin is the only kicker in our team except for Moses,he has had a groin strain..While everybody dislikes Rankin in our team,JAC cant goalkicker and is just learning NRL as well,he will be a superstar one day,but Rankin has been a great buy as far as experience goes and he has my support,he hasn't been given the opportunity to shine in one of his more favoured positions…

TTmy post wasn't a criticism of Rankin, but rather of Taylor consistent ly playing him on the wing, on the premise of his Questionable goal kicking. Instead of where we still have a gaping problem , the halves
I've said before that someone like Rankin may have made the difference that's need with Brooks.
And the time to experiment with JAC was early in the season. At least he is a winger , and he is Fast. Important for a winger and two things that aren't Rankins specialty.
I still would like to see Rankin at 6

So because he wasn't given a go earlier, that's why he's decided to leave?
Stubborn.. Short sighted Taylor.
Nothing to do with Melbourne's apparent more lucrative offer?
The same JT that planned for Teddy's probable origin absence with the more experienced Rankin on the wing ahead of a new recruit from the Sharks U/20s…
Coaches go into seasons prepared to back themselves and work hard overong periods of time to get things right.
There are enough occurrences thru a season to force changes to a coaches hand without him chopping and changing things every couple of weeks
Remember... Teams that win comps use the least players
