Exactly. Beats me why Eiso is even in the team. Zero impact running the ball.

He covered many first up misses by team mates which had the potential to result in tries. Until his team mates learn to make their tackles stick, we need him.

Huth made 57 tackles , says enough imo

Yeah but his carry’s are like what you’d see from an office worker .

As an office worker, I take offence to that

The Twal/Sue combination was the difference. We looked okay when those two were on. When the other two props were on we went backwards.

You must have missed the last twenty minutes.

Packer and Matulino were there in the final 20 mins when Manly scored 2 tries…

And they would have scored a few more if they were not there.

So they never scored with Twal and Sue there and they scored twice with Packer and Matulino there but it’s lucky Packer and Matulino were there instead of Twal and Sue in the final 20 mins because they would have scored more.

That’s some dynamite logic there Russell.

Saw him in Five Dock recently coming out of a barber shop and his build reminded me of Pat Jarvis not a huge forward but looked ripped. Will only get better over the next few years and he has already proven to be an astute buy.

Agree rus thats a horrible call from old mate

I think that Twal and Aloiai are both very young and that Cleary is bringing them along slowly until they can dominate a game. I think that is why they have had limited game time

I don't agree that it's more about faster backs. Sure we need speed in the backs, but in order to be able to use it, we also need to win the ruck, we need momentum, we need to get a roll on. You need to have forwards that can get through the advantage line not simply surrender meekly and lose the ruck resulting in a slow ptb. It is obviously much easier to make yardage when the other team is backpeddling.
To win NRL games you must have that intensity in both A and D and that is driven by the forwards. Our guys for the most part are generally slow and lack intensity. We fell off a lot of tackles last night. In my view, WTs need an injection of 2-3 tough, hard running forwards of the style of Tapau to bolster our current pack.

Twal is a damn good player. Why Eiso and the likes get picked ahead of him has me stuffed.

Me too, I was very surprised when he was left out of the saints game last week, he might have sparked something if he was there

I agree he’s one of our best at times, but while it was a great run,the defence was pathetic.
Still ,you can only play what’s in front of you

I'm of the older generation and still don't understand why when someone does something OK, and not even special, that they are suddenly a BEAST. Really?

He's shredded.
Absolute rig.

He's up there with Moses as most athletic in the team.

Best forward we have… Along with Lawrence.

Firstly, that run to set up the Mbye try was special. Secondly, he's the best metre eater in the Tigers team. Thirdly he appears to be made of granite, impervious to pain and seems to be incredibly strong. Finally, he makes a lot of crucial tackles and is a great worker. I think he's a beast!

Can someone please let me know how to attach a previous post from another poster to my response to it. I'm old school. Also to attach a thread that i started awhile back
Only my first post in the thread. Would be forever grateful.😊

Wests Tigers forward Alex Twal says his side's drop in their defensive principles against Parramatta is the biggest area to correct on Saturday as they take on the Gold Coast Titans.

Michael Maguire's side were run over by the Eels in a heavy 51-6 defeat in Round 6 as part of the annual Easter Monday clash between the two sides, with Twal highlighting how disappointing the performance was given the solid start to 2019.

"Up until the weekend, we'd really built our season on strong defensive principles," Twal said. "So 51-6... yeah, it's not something we take lightly at all.

"We pride ourselves on our defence and Madge is a defensive coach, so it was disappointing because defensively, the scoreboard paints the picture there.

"It's a tough one because we know there's lots of improvement in us.

"The NRL is a game and a sport that you just need to be on every round or the result won’t go your way and we really didn’t show that on the weekend.

"For us, 1-17, we just need to nail our jobs."

One of the team's best through the first six weeks of the year, Twal said the progress the side has made defensively didn't show up on Monday, which wasn't a fair reward to work put in by the club's coaching staff or support shown by the fans.

"Of course he disappointed," Twal said when asked about the coach's reaction.

"We play for Madge as much as ourselves and we were disappointed with the performance we put out there. Madge doesn't deserve that, the coaching staff doesn't deserve it and the fans don't deserve it either so we'll be looking to bounce back this weekend. That's all we can control and all we're focused on."

Off the back of another short turnaround, Wests Tigers will travel to Tamworth on Friday before taking on the in-form Gold Coast Titans at Scully Park.

After a slow start to the year, Garth Brennan's side have won their past two games and have a good record over Wests Tigers with five wins in their past six meetings.

Match: Wests Tigers v Titans
ROUND 7 - SATURDAY 27TH APRIL

Spot on twal, :+1: :+1:

Why is Twal making apologies? He with Thompson's are the only two who can walk away from Monday with their heads held high.
