Wests Tigers have today confirmed the signing of Alex Twal, effective immediately.

Twal will join Wests Tigers this week and is eligible for selection for Wests Tigers’ Round 16 game against the Gold Coast Titans.

The 20-year-old was already signed to Wests Tigers for three years commencing in 2018 but will join the club earlier.

A junior representative standout, Twal has already featured for the Junior Kangaroos and NSW U/20s in his career, and was named in the 2016 Holden Cup Team of the Year after a superb season with Parramatta.

The Parramatta City Titans junior has spent the last two seasons as part of the Eels’ extended first-grade squad, and played for Wentworthville Magpies against Wests Tigers last weekend.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe welcomed Twal to the club.

“We were really happy to announce Alex’s signing last month and to have him join us early is an added boost,” said Pascoe. “Alex has had a great year so far and will provide additional cover and depth for Wests Tigers over the remainder of the year.”

Hope Nader Hamden coming immediately doesnt effect Eisenhuth getting a go in coming weeks.

Lionheart should have retired years ago, he is 43…

this kid is only 21 or something and at least a heavy weight, exciting times.

Good to have him over. Hopefully gets a few games in nrl before the season ends

Now we know why he didn't go hard at us last weekend.

Funny that Parramatta have released him with Beau Scott out for the year. Suggests that he is a fair way down their pecking order.
I would be worried if I was Felise.
I think he will play this weekend given Grant is out, Ava had another disciplinary brain snap, and Woods may not back up 48 hours after origin.
I hope he gets a go before the end of the year to see what he is made of. I would pick him ahead of Ava.

I hope that's the reason because he was very unimpressive last weekend

Looking forward to seeing him get a run hopefully soon. He was the best prop on the field in our nsw cup game last week. Made plenty of meters post contact and hit hard and made plenty of tackles.

Only 20 though so will only be hitting his straps by tje end of his contract but can compete will JJ for a 2nd prop spot.

I am with BP on his weekend performance, poor game from him, but at least he has shown much better.

15 - Alex Twal
Club: Wentworthville Magpies; TOTW selections: 6.

17 total runs, 151 total metres, 61 post-contact metres, one tackle-break, 35 tackles.
Alex Twal has been the cornerstone of the Magpies forward pack throughout 2017, and his performance on the weekend is a glaring example of his impact on his side. His strong carries throughout the contest continuously put Wentworthville on the front foot, and his efforts in defence were far from unnoticed as recorded 35 tackles.

Yep looks like he had a terrible game. 151 metres and 35 tackles. He should be ashamed of himself.

haha your hard markers 😂😂

First half. Reminds me of tolman a bit. We need someone lie him though. we also need someone like vete too.

I am happy to have him at the club, particularly as I have found Felise a bit underwhelming this year, but regardless of the stats, he was not up to his par against our cellar dwellers on Saturday.

Its honestly hard to get up against cellar dwellars. no matter what anyone says, if your a top team playing a bottom team you dont go as hard. Always been the case.

All you dirty lebs are either drug dealer wannabes or hang out at Centrelink. I hate lebs, you all prey to Mohammed. Brown skin scum.

Might be hard for Dingo to get behind a player like this, after statements he made in PM.

All the best Alex, go hard !
