Aloiai

*Saab's manager, Mario Tartak, has been agitating for a release from his contract with the Dragons for months, and his client was absent for new coach Anthony Griffin's first day in charge of the joint venture club on Tuesday.

The Herald understands Saab, who still has another two years to run on his contract with the Dragons, wants to link with the Sea Eagles as early the upcoming season on a deal worth more than what he is currently earning at St George Illawarra.*

Sound familiar?

To his credit, I cannot recall Saab publicly making adverse comments about the Dragons. But, while managers are involved, the alleged club of destination is the same as Aloiai.

This is all out of character for JA, he's very well liked amongst the players and staff. All I know is he had a chat with Madge and from that it went south very quickly so I'd be very interested in what was said.
There's something not right at the club because Lee, Pascoe, Hartigan and Maguire seem to be on different planets, communication between the 4 appears optional because publicly it's all over the place the grubby media are loving it. You just have to look through the forum and see everyone's concerns about what's happening with retention and recruitment so you'd have to say that those 4 have differing views on how to go forward.
The club needs a new motto
" United we stand Devided we fall"
On a side note who else is laughing at Seibold going to the Knights hahahaha

"he had a chat with Madge and from that it went south very quickly so I'd be very interested in what was said." Yes, it would be interesting.
From the rest of your post, it appears you are assuming that Maguire said something untoward to Aloiai, and that what was said differs with what Lee, Pascoe, and Hartigan are saying. How do you know this?
Perhaps Aloiai said something untoward to Maguire that Maguire reacted to.

Maybe JA did but I don't see him as a hot head except for his post. I didn't assume anything I simply would like to know
Lee's role is to oversee the business and Pascoes is the football department so he should be the person making comments publicly about JA, if at all.

That is actually wrong. That is not either of their roles. Lee speaks on behalf of the board and as part of the board and the chairman of the board he is in part responsible for the overall direction of the organisation. Pascoe is the COE and is responsible for enacting the boards directions and is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of the organisation. Adam Hartigan is General Manager Football and responsible for the operation of Football

It is good that players feel comfortable in speaking with Maguire. This seems to be at odds with how some like to portray him in the media.

Aloiai's actions and motivations are no longer a concern to me. I would like him out of the club asap.

Frustrated about what ? Don’t let this stuff get to you mate . It’s just a game , we all care about , but really nothing to get frustrated about . Plenty of bigger stress to worry about . Like what time to go to the beach this afternoon for example

Have to agree paws. Just because you have Jesus on your side doesn’t mean you’re allowed to sing from a different hymn book.

Even if we get Joe I still think we should play hardball with JA and Manly

Like Joe will be here regardless of what we do with JA so still make manly offer something really meaningful or if they don't just stick JA with the CC squad and use him when needed

Make the germ waste a whole season unless we get something or we can comfortably fill our squad and use all our cap money on players that Madge really wants

The quicker it’s over the less unrest. Funny thing is this could of still happened even if alioli had acted with integrity instead of like a petulant child. That is if it happens but seems possible from what I’ve seen on here

Exactly ! He could have said , “manly have offered me ridiculous money , I’d like to go there . Can we please see if that’s a possibility?” , especially if the Joe -o stuff was going on , and the lack of edge players in the 30 . It’s a really immature and short sighted move for a guy who wants to be a “forward leader”

Agree to an extent

But if he is with CC squad and only called up if needed than surely he is away from the group for most part

Out if sight out of mind

And if he spits the dummy and missing training etc just fine him

He would be shattered

I get the impression that the club has organised the roles in the recruitment and retention process so that Madge plays the sympathetic, almost father-figure type role, while Hartigan is the hard man making the tough decision.

For example, Benji approaches Madge and says that he has heard that he won't be offered a new deal. This is news to Madge. He tells Benji to give him 24 hours and he will see what he can do. He comes back to Benji full of sympathy. "I'm sorry Benji, but the decision has been made.....".

McIntyre phones Madge and says that he still hasn't received a formal offer from the club and that the Titans have tabled an offer, which he has accepted. Madge expresses surprise and regret that he is going. He tells Macca that he wanted to keep him. Obviously the football department has stuffed up.....

This way, Madge stays on good terms with the playing group while Hartigan plays the role of the man making the unpopular decisions.

I guess that the club has addressed how Cleary left and have put systems in place to curb this issue.

Curtis Sironen for JA would be an acceptable swap.
it would be ideal if we could have said take Reynolds and JA
like when we let Faith go to sharks they had to take Gibbs too

Yeah I think fair swap I would not release for another forward outside manly I’d make him see out his contract if they are ever going to set an example

Agree, but we have only 1 spot left if Joe O comes on, and if young Sironen comes over then we have none (though he is the obvious swap)?
What if Daine L gets a release?

Worse case Manly get cold feet and we are stuck with him.

All players will need to lift next season to keep a contract here, which is a great outcome for us.
