Anasta signs with Wests Tigers for 2 years

Have you seen him play this year,he was still hitting the ball up hard long after his forwards gave it up last week,he has more go in him than most of our players, plus a great kicking game,at lock he would be a great buy.

i agree i cant see why the people on here dont like him
who cares what age he is ,if he can still play why not sign him :S

yeah we dont need him he tackles and tries 110% every game who needs guys like that at our club he wont fit in here we want players with no heart and cant tackle.

When Teddy got injured rd 1 he came out and said on twitter how gutted he was for him and what a great talent tedesco is, before than I always hated him. He is a good leader and I wouldn't hesitate in buying him.

He's a talented player who puts in, some people don't like his personality perhaps, but focussing on his playing ability, he can kick, organise, lead so at the right price wouldn't be a bad catch.

A much better signing than Mason. Unlike Mason, he has a heart and doesn't go missing when the heat's on. In a crisis he has a cool mind unlike Benji and Farah, but just like a fugly it'll take more than a few beers to get me liking him.

Ok so now there's speculation of signing the roosters player sometime in the future ? Personally I hate the idea. Because simply his a big girl and a wanker.
Why are we starting the same bs as last year with all this signing and contract stuff that is just going to mess with the players and our year. Also willi mason and Sony bill should get off our minds because there problem makers and won't help the team whatsoever. Our team we have now is deffinatly good enough and our form will come out soon. Just wait and see

STRUGGLING Wests Tigers have signalled an interest in signing Braith Anasta, who looks increasingly likely to leave the Sydney Roosters at the end of the year.

The 30-year-old Roosters captain is a free agent at season's end, and could find himself finishing his career at Concord Oval if the Tigers have their way. Anasta's manager Greg Willett said last night he had met the Tigers on Tuesday, and they are prepared to offer the former NSW and Test utility a two-year deal.

''I have spoken to the Wests Tigers,'' Willett said. ''They rang me up to see what he was doing, and that was it. We've talked about figures. I've told them what I'd be looking for if he was to leave the Roosters and go somewhere else, and that's how we left it.''

Willett said discussions were at a preliminary stage, and he was scheduled to meet another club about Anasta today. He is yet to discuss Anasta's future with the Roosters, who appear ready to let him go to clear the way for more spending next year and beyond.

The Roosters have already signed Warriors five-eighth James Maloney for next year and are expected to be the stage for All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams's return to the code. On top of that there is continuing speculation that Manly fullback Brett Stewart could join the Tricolours. ''We haven't spoken to anyone properly there [at the Roosters]

but I'm not hiding the fact that I'm speaking to people,'' Willett said. ''I never say no to anything but I don't know what's going to happen with the [Tigers] deal.

''They have talked about a two-year deal but other than that nothing's certain. I've got to sit down with Braith and talk to him about it.''

Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan was unaware of the Tigers' moves to snare Anasta, who would more than likely be seen as a back-rower under Tim Sheens rather than a five-eighth.

''We know nothing about it,'' O'Sullivan said. ''We've told him all along we'll make a decision in due course. If the offer is out there for him he's got to look at it.''

Another senior Roosters player, Anthony Minichiello, answered continuing queries about his future yesterday, with suggestions that Stewart could be signed for next year having obvious implications for him.

Minichiello, 31, is also off contract and hoping to remain at a club with which he has played in five grand finals. The fullback said he was not concerned by the Stewart speculation.

''There's always rumours that everyone's coming to the Roosters so that doesn't worry me at all,'' Minichiello said.

''Any player that's off contract is always linked with the Roosters … that's always been [the way] since I've been at the club the past 15 or 16 years. There's always players that are linked to the club, and it never happens anyway.

''I'm letting my manager handle all that. Obviously if I wanted to sit down with the Roosters now, they're willing to sit down and talk about it.''

I like Anasta as a backrower, I think his skill set is a fraction limited for 6, but as a backrower I like him. 2 years would be a good length as well, we have some very promising backrowers coming through and 2 years is when the likes of Lovett, Santi and Vela should be coming good.

Im not sure what his asking price would be, I assume it would be decent, which I feel he is worth, if he is looking for $300k than I would look elsewhere.

So this is our answer to replace Ellis? or are we getting rid of Rhino or Benji to sign yet another washed up player?

We never ever sign players in their prime of their carerrs

You are the first to see it ( after me )..Rhino is gone ..I am sure Sheens will ease him out..he cant push him , remember last years uproar when we thought he was going…So that is Ellis, Lote, Rhino, Moors, and others we dont know..gone next year>

Some of you people amuse me. You [This word has been automatically removed] and moan about the lack of commitment from some of our players (but not Moltzen) and then you [This word has been automatically removed] and moan when we look like signing a true professional footballer.

Let's face it. No one can replace Ellis, he is unique, and I am sure that Anasta would not be getting the same money as he. It even says in the paper (if you can believe anything from the Telegraph lot) that he would be taking a pay cut to join us.

He is big, still fairly fast, a good leader, has a passion for the game and for a couple of years he would not let anybody down at the WT's.

Blind Freddy can see that Heino, Loti, Moors, Fulton, Moltzen are pretty much gone next year. We have some promising young players but maybe not ready for first grade just yet.

Anasta would be an ideal captain for the side when some of these young blokes are given a go (hopefully).

Let's face it Farah is not the greatest captain going around and neither is Benji.

Good signing if true.

Dont like the bloke but that doesnt mean hes not a good player, Ithink he is very professional & would fit in well @ lock for us. The more i look @ our team & with so many coming off contract i can see a cleanout coming i.e Moors, Lotti, Ellis going back home, & Utai, & maybe Heino & brown has already gone. With salary cap going up 500 big ones & some of theses players going i think we will be in the market for some quality players.

don't like him but there are probably players at the Tigers I would dislike if they played for anyone else

Well Blind Freddy must be dumb as well cause the rest are uncertain, but Heighno & Fulton are both contracted to the end of next season and will be at the tigers.

Brown and Ellis were also contracted - if they want to get rid of them they will.
Looks like things are afoot…only Sheens would really know what's in his mind.
