Should never have been picked for NSW to get dropped.
Past his footballing use by date years ago - still has a few years to go in the social pages though.

Im for it if we play in the halves but not as a back rower. While hes tough and a strong defender we really need more big men in the forwards. We have enough smaller framed backrowers with alot of heart (Fulton, Heighno)

Also makes you wonder about Matthew Johns hard hitting NON questions to Anasta about it the other night.
Looks like Heighington or Fulton (or both) can pack their bags- maybe to the Sharks :smiley: .
That in itself will cause a bigger reaction than Gibbs getting the flick.

I think this is a good signing. He has a good kicking game (which we don't have), is a strong defender (which we aren't at the moment) and will take ball playing pressure off Benji (which we don't have).

I'm assuming the plan is to play him at 5/8th and Benji at half. Not 100% sure of Benji at half is my only concern.

Heighno and Fulton might not have to go…remember Ellis is going home. Surely Anasta won't be paid more than what we're giving Gareth!

In saying that, I think he'll suit our style in the forwards. He does have good skill and a bit of leadership for our young forwards couldn't hurt.

A lot of people bag Anasta out, but you can never fault his efforts. You can't say that for a lot of Roosters players, so maybe he'll step up again playing under Sheens and with Benji and Robbie?
