Are We Still A Bottom 4 Side GNR??

Me either, i turned off at the end of last yr. I'm sure you'd know as well as anybody the joys following this team brings at times.

The problem is we have played like a bottom 4 side once every 2 to 3 weeks. We've only really put in an 80 min performance twice in 8 rounds.

Tonight was a step in the right direction & I'm hoping that TT's prediction continues in that we've finally turned the corner.

I like the way our bench continued the fight tonight. Having Galloway back will make us stronger but the Roosters will be another big test.

Huh?

You are aware my comment was made in the live game thread last week, when everyone was in meltdown mode right? If there was a thread made for everyone whose ever made an outlandish statement out of frustration, it would have its own section

Anyway, its a long yr, i'm happy to be proven wrong, as CB said. Its not how i feel anyway though, as i said, what was said out of frustration.

I'm actually pretty bemused for being singled out, like i'm the only one whose ever expressed a negative opinion.

Assuming because it was out of character.

Well perhaps on future posts you can assist by adding modifiers such as "this is just said out of frustration so pay no attention" or "only a live game thread so just posting rubbish".

When you're frustrated you tend to not worry about making clarifications.

Look as much as that was a good win and not taking the gloss of it , but you put Brett and Josh Morris , Tim Lafai , Klemmer and James Graham and it's a total different ball game . Just saying ….

FT is right , it's a good win ,but It's how they react to it , which will tell more about the team and how we are going. Hopefully it's in the right direction, meanwhile , enjoy it , any points are good points.

Injuries, injuries, injuries! Top 8 or bottom 4 - will probably come down to injuries. We've been pretty lucky so far this year - or just maybe lucky and better equipped in the S&C department!
Next week is another test, and so is the one after that. 4 wins, 4 losses. Pretty much where I thought we might be given the draw. Let's see after the next 6 weeks.

I wouldnt even worry about it
Had we lost last night there would have been plenty including myself having a big whinge.
Everyone is on a high after that performance and i hope for our sake we can do it on a more consistent basis otherwise good civil forum peeps here become real keyboard warriors sparing no one from Players, coach, Media and each other.. i'm not exception to it either.

Only means one thing though . we are ALL passionate about this club

They have played above expectations all year. Ill put my nuts on the line then. We are not a bottom 4 side. We are a fringe 8 side.

At this stage of the season Im not sure there's much difference between the two.

I hate to put a dampener on the boys effort, because it was a great win for sure, but the reality is that the Bulldogs were very depleted last night. Missing the Morris brothers, James Graham, Klemmer and Lafai (all high standard players) made them a much more vulnerable side than they normally would've been. I doubt we would've beaten them at full strength.

I don't think we're bottom 4, the talent in the squad exceeds that. The key will be injuries. So far we're doing well and I give the new S&C team huge credit here. As long as the team stays healthy, top 8 is possible, probably around 7th, 8th and 9th place.

In the post game interview on 9, Taupau was asked "what is JT doing different ?" He said, "diet. JT has them on a gluten free and organic food program."
A lot of people may scoff at this but I currently have been doing the same ( although I stray a bit). It made a big difference in terms of my strength and fitness.

Cutting out crap and sticking to a rigid pre-planned diet normally helps athletes.

Wouldn't surprise me to learn Taylor is peddeling the gluten free angle specifically to motivate the boys to stay on track. The theory behind it is pseudo scientific at best.

Not trying to rub anything in here, but what are your thoughts now Shane?

In retrospect, we kicked the Dogs arse yes, but they were depleted.

Yes five of their best were missing, it gave us a false sense of where we're really at, imo.
