Are we still a bottom 4 side, hard to say at this point because we beat the dragons who are drawing accolades from commentators at the moment, played well against souths, only just lost the the dogs and then smacked them a few weeks later, did well against the eels who used to be our bogey team, didn't do well in the fortnight against the raiders and warriors and got lapped tonight. A series of ups and downs lack of consistency so I guess it depends which wests tigers team turns up over the coming games as to how many competition points they can accrue.

They think its panic time and time to start playing catch up

I was there there heads did not drop in fact for the next 1- or so minutes the intensity lifted

If it had of been a bit shorter Hap, and gone out, everyone would have saying what a brilliant kick. It would have lifted the team and he'd be a genius. It wasn't as if it was one of Benji's (?into the grandstand)
It may not have been the right play, but it didn't lose the game for us.
I'm a lot more worried about our lack of aggression , off the bench especially.
We were holding them reasonably well until we started rotating the forwards
Taupau wasn't as effective in his first spell and I know it won't be a popular thing to say, but imo he still should be coming off the bench as a impact player, ( where he has always created havoc).
I know that's not where he wants to play, but that's where he is always effective. Both for us and New Zealand.
As far as the team is concerned , that's where he is needed, at least this year.

It was never going to be a game that we were likely to win. But we always have trouble against those teams with huge, fast packs. We are still a chance of the 8, and I never thought I'd be thinking that at the start of the year. It depends how we go against the middle tier of the comp.
I still think we're short of A couple of good hard hitting forwards , and as we all keep saying, a Centre. But I still think we can still make the 8 with what we have.

Roosters worked out just run at Mitchell Moses because he can't tackle. He can't even kick What is it that he can do ? Most hyped up over rated player I have ever seen.

And we let a top 5/8 who was about to hit his peak go to the Raiders.

Ourkick chase is probably worse than ever at the moment, we did at least put some pressure on the receivers on a couple of occasions last night( not many), but usually there has been no pressure at all. Even when our kicks are on target, We seem to be extremely lazy with our chases.

Our kick chase has frustrated me for years, and under each coach we have had, it always looks ordinary compared to the opposition.The Roosters gave us no room at all when they kicked, yet they were rarely troubled by us when fielding kicks.

But I'm being more critical of Farah because yet again when we just needed to keep our heads down and bums up and keep in the grind he went for a play that wasn't required at the time

We were hanging in there , we were holding the Roosters out , we were frustrating them into errors and turnovers

Yet half the Forum can't admit that Farah has done this so many times and is why I would take Cameron Smith over Robbie every day of the week

I just watched the replay Happy,

Taupau and Farah's errors whilst both were unnecessary, neither resulted in points.

We ended up in pretty good positions after each error the following set and even the commentators referred to the fact that we were holding firm.

So i struggle to see how those 2 errors could have possibly cost us the game ?

The way i see it, their forwards bashed us through the middle and their ruck speed compared to ours resulted in the loppsided scoreline.

We could've had a 95% completion rate and still copped a shelacking with that difference in ruck speed.

That is the point I'm trying to make.

Errors don't need to result in points

They change momentum

I think we completed 1 set out of 8 in that time

If blokes with under 20 games make those errors they will learn from it

All Robbie learns is he is a protected species both on and off field

I was very annoyed when Moses tried to get up again to score when he was clearly held then getting penalised giving the Easts the ball back to score in the next set.

Happy you have a point in what you said , but as has already been said, in the context of last nights game, it made no difference at all . in the first ten minutes it was obvious from past experience that we were struggling , and the amount of offloads were killing us .
Unless the Roosters had fallen into a giant hole we were always going to be in big trouble.
They held out longer than I actually thought they would, but eventually the gates opened.
Probably most of the guys out there could be accused of making the same mistakes they usually make against the bigger, faster teams.
Without more speed and aggression from our pack , we are always have the same results against those types of teams
