The ARL Commission has announced the national anthem will not be played at the All Stars match on the Gold Coast after accepting advice from the Australian Rugby League Indigenous Council.......

If you want to avoid an argument, simply take the NO out of the Equation. Well done Happy! When the ALL Stars v Maoris gig was being designed that should have been decided back then. Dumb NRL bureaucrats. BTW How many "Maoris" are Samoan & Tongan Juniors? Will they sing the Ardern Anthem?

Agree, its overplayed. It should be special and played at the start of International matches only.

Just curious, now that the national anthem is not being played i guess the Ernie Dingo made up Welcome to Country will also be cut from the agenda.

I am ok to scrap the anthem for these matches as long as they don’t then make this an indigenous celebration let’s keep the event neutral without the PC brigade being involved

Why? I’m a very proud Australian but I don’t even like our anthem, I think it’s terrible.
