Exactly. I like Kyrigos but I reckon he has been a massive under performer.

Of course he has. He doesn’t have the mental fortitude to make it as a singles player.

You know what guys. He has made it as a singles player. He’s been top 20 in the world and beaten all the top players. He would still be in the top 30 (minimum) if he didn’t take most of the last two years off due to not wanting to be in bubbles and self isolation when returning to Australia. He has come out and said he’d rather be with his family.

You are right he may never win a major but that isn’t his goal in tennis. Not everyone wants to do what it takes to be the very best. He just wants to be happy and have fun playing the game of tennis as his job. He’s won some big tournaments on the way and maybe doubles is more up his ally and might help him relax playing singles. I get he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but let’s no judge the guy on the hat we expect him to achieve.

I love the personality he brings to the game (for better and for worse) and it makes him easily the most entertaining player to watch on the tour in my opinion.

Also one of the most naturally gifted and effortless players I’ve ever watched.

His talent is unquestionable but geez he's unlikeable IMO. A petulant toddler personality where he carries on like a sort when things don't go his way.
Ash Barty is a credit to herself and her family. She is an example of a great sportsperson. She is the ultimate class act.

Yeah, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea mate.

Ash is a star, only 25 too. So much more to come.

Looking forward to seeing Ash at the top for years to come, she's a gem.
Got a feeling she would be the sort of person to retire at the top of her game, she seems to have that easygoing nature where tennis would only be a small part of her interests in life. Good luck to her, she deserves everything good that comes her way.

4 grand Slam tournaments a year, him and Kokk just solidified themselves as the team to beat, going forward.

His bank was already in good shape. He’s the type who’d remind you about it as a defence. Ironic given how relentlessly he bashes Djokovic, yet I’d like to compare those two bank accounts.

Was a great night for tennis and Australia last night with two great finals matches.

He’s not unlocking his potential, because he has the potential to be a really good singles player. But he doesn’t have it in him, so he’s had to go the lesser route.

Beat the #1 ranked team and went on to win the tournament.

Hopefully he builds confidence from this and finds success at singles also.

The other Aussie team played quite well in the final, nothing easy about it.

Yes, the lesser route, doubles. You don’t see Federer, Nadal and Djokovic playing doubles. Why not?

I don’t particularly like Nick’s personality myself. However in this tournament, as a part of a team, he has been great. They have beaten some very good world ranked partnerships and have done so in an entertaining way. A few of us have enjoyed that journey. Calling him a flog or downplaying the achievement is petty under this narrative.
