It's all a matter of perspective and which way you look at it Bug. Not all Western Suburbs Magpies fans share your views.
How about this for a change of perspective. The joint venture is a homecoming. Wests Tigers have based themselves at Concord Oval, once known as St Lukes. Western Suburbs Magpies played 34 games at St Lukes between 1910 and 1942\. Concord as a home base is within the traditional western suburbs magpies area, close to our two spiritual homes, Pratten Park at Ashfield (where we played 320 games between 1912 and 1985, winning 178), and Lidcombe Oval (where we played 199 games between 1951 and 1986, winning 107 matches).
We've even managed to 'con' Balmain into letting us play 4 home games a year within cooee of our homeland. And, better still, while Western Suburbs Magpies will continue with their Black and White Ball etc, those 'silly old Balmain ladies' have agreed to their own demise by permitting their celebrations to be absorbed and disappear into the joint venture, while the magpie tradition continues on.
It all depends on how you look at it.

As a die hard magpie fan from before I could walk, I don't feel the joint venture is dissing my past, or favouring one side over the over. And, as a Western Suburbs Magpie fan, the joint venture has given me one thing that Wests alone were never able to give me - a Premiership!!!
Get on board and enjoy yourself.
