Benji "I've got to weigh up all my options"

We are stuffed and doomed for mediocrity if he accepts upgrade. Best result would be if he goes to union. Not a time or place for sentimentality and we owe him nothing. Weak clubs with weak leadership will bend to this sort of pressure. We need to take a stand.

i agree larry, give him the brown cardboard box tomorrow, clean out his desk and march him out the front door. best result for tigers.

So why wont he play for any other NRL club against us?

Does he think hes doing us some sort of favour?
\
\
Because the way he's playing, Id love us to play against him every week….as tonite showed

How about you play the next two years and then get back to us regarding your next contract, if you don't mind I have to sign up some talented kids, you may have herad of them, Brooks and Moses??

I really think the club should put it on him… give him "x" days to sign on the offer they prefer, and if he doesnt block his supposed raise by waxing the spare cap on retaining others.

Call his bluff, and if he try's to stretch it out and drag us through the mud have his ass in a sling. No player is bigger than the club.

I've got to admit i'm not sure what to make of Benji taking a week off . Initially i took it as nothing. I'm sure most players would have the best part of the week off anyways, unless injured, I've heard some try to skew the situation out of line. What concerns me more is Marshall's role in all this lately. 3-4 weeks ago Benji was keeping it quiet, "leaving it up to my manager" and that he would look at it after the sharks game.

However in the past week he's done nothing but harp on about it. It's interesting that a guy who only 4-5 weeks ago pulled himself from the footy show for the time being, then re-appeared on that show the night before a game (which i thought was not club protocol??). Then to make it worse all he did was talk about all this, painting the club in a bad light. All the hallmarks are there of a guy who's not happy, plays the victim and probably knows he won't get his way..

As some have already suggested, no player is bigger than the club. We will breed a new star player at some point and Benji will become yesterday's news at some point. We don't need to move heaven and earth for him. Most of all we need to protect our long term best interests.

The way he is playing I would not blame the club for pulling back any offer of an upgrade as he doesnt deserve one,

You obviously have no heart or soul…...Id be devastated if Bunji ever played against us.

He has given me so much joy over the years.

I now believe that the Footy Show and the media are using Benji to feed off and sell their product. It is very hard to serve two masters. He should remember that Wests Tigers are paying him to play for (i) the club, (ii) the 16 other players that play with him on match day and (iii) the supporters who have been and will remain loyal to Wests Tigers. Benji, no matter who you think you are you are still just a cog in a wheel.

I'd be disappointed, not devastated though. Fact is that the club is bigger than any players. WT's can't be blamed for Benji's possible departure, so long as their offer is fair. It's probably fair that Benji should feel a little hard done by with Humpty;s extension being pulled but Benji too needs to understand things from the club's perspective. If a new boss wants to hold off on the extension for now then so be it. He's still under contract for another 2 seasons. Benji needs to keep himself grounded here.

Some people on here disgust me. Fact - when benji talks about a "pay cut" back when this current deal was struck he stayed for around 700k less then what was being offered by the titans and bulldogs on the proviso that when the new TV deal came through he could renegotiate the worth of that decision as at the time we were under cap pressure. So while some of u wanna be all "funny" with your "see ya benji" comments he is only wanting what was promised to him. This club wouldn't be where it is without him regardless of form this year his worth off the field is has been paramount to sponsorship of this club. Don't begrudge him for asking for what he was promised and don't speak on stuff most of u clearly are to uneducated to understand

I'm one of 3-4 on here who actually do give correct information regarding the tigers and its people like u as to why I don't post here anymore. U want it hit me up on twitter. Benji will re-sign.

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once.

The club will upgrade his pay packet for the next two years. Got it?

What he wants is ANOTHER two years after that. Got it?

The club, which is their right, are not at this stage offering any extension. Got it?

Mate you have been rarely wrong on player signings and re-signings, but do you really think Benji will re-sign??

Look at it this way, Benji might have stayed as he thought it was the right thing to do after injuries almost ruined him. The club was very patient also. The board wanted to see the back of him, but due to Sheens he survived. While I agree some people have made disrespectful comments, you tell me, what do we owe Benji. And Humphrey's is the worst I've seen in charge of a club, gone because he couldn't organize a root in a b…......

Magpie col he is signe til 2015 - got it

He was promised a renegotiation after the new TV deal was in place as the salary cap increased - got it

He took less money on this proviso - got it

Now WT have taken that away and now he is looking else where - got it

You are a peanut mate with no idea I was involved in the original deal I know exactly what went on. Pull ya head in
