Benji Marshall #70

Maybe Benji and Maguire don't have the broken relationship the media keeps pushing.

Reminds me of when they used to say Farah and Benji don't get along.

I think this was more about Sheens and Benji's relationship and history.

I think it's a good appointment. Sheens, Farah, Benji all back together. At least it's an identity which I feel we've lost lately.

We have a pretty crazy amount of support staff now especially for juniors coming through.

It's good to see Benji also being involved with the pathways system how many times have we heard players say they idolised Benji growing up now whilst as time has gone by some may not have seen Benji in his hay days but their parents would have and this could make the difference of a junior signing on with WT'S.

I know that if I was a kid and I had the option to train with Benji Marshall, I'd be demanding my parents figure out where to go, how much to pay, etc.

Doesn't stop there, they have Kimmorley and other coaches, Sheens ect

Imagine going to training and those guys are all there. I'd be star struck. Isn't Ronnie Palmer now also involved in the lower grades?

It's good to see the club putting so many resources into our kids. It's the right way to go.

Nah I think this was always going to happen.

Despite what some believe, Sheens is not here to undermine Maguire. They’ll work together.

In the last CEO's update there was no mention of Kimmorley, is he still on board?

What's next? Aaron Woods welcomed back with fanfare as our new forwards coach?

I can just imagine how Luke Brooks will be feeling.

Marshall: "Hey Luke. It doesn't matter that you get the ball on the clutch play and kick it out on the full or pass it 14 rows into the grandstand, as long as you throw a miracle flick pass and find a winger like Patty Richards good enough to catch it, your legacy and superannuation here is sealed. I look forward to working with you, bro"

If Luke Brooks win a premiership for us, he can have a job for life.

The forum nominates him for door stop at the COE

Yes

I am divided on this one. It is great to have Benji back with us, and an ambassador role is perfect for him. It is really good for our club, and will contribute to healing our broken soul.

But I haven't forgiven him for going to Souths (it was as recent as earlier this year) and rubbishing us in the media. Whether what he said was true or not, his words helped besmirch our name, our image, and he seemed to do it out of spite. Whether he was right or not, he's not a loyal Wests Tigers man, he puts himself and his own interests first. I guess another reason it's good to have him on board is that then he won't be against us.

I also think it adds further weight to the theory that Madge is being nudged out. With Sheens/Robbie/Benji all coming back, Madge is becoming less and less important to the club. More expendable. The club knows they can't sack another coach, it would just make us more of a joke to our opposition, but we can keep him whilst making his role smaller and bringing in the right support around him. I suspect we're grooming that Gardiner coach, hoping he'll come through as top coach with the junior players also coming through. (Maybe that's just my hope though about Gardiner.)

@JD-Tiger if Madge does get sacked I do expect Ben Gardiner takes over he was given the assistant job because of his connection with the young guys in the team hopefully that’ll rub off onto the experienced ones too

Makes good business sense in terms of brand and marketing.

However, Benji you hurt a lot of us fans last year.

Ah yes, people will be hiding this morning at that 10 year old claim being unsurfaced.
