Blair blah blah

You're right, why bother, it's really quite easy to read 2011 NRL stats & see that blah blah defence with 61 misses & 591 tackles {24 games} will be SIGNIFICANTLY better than Fultons 24 misses & 564 tackles {16 games} & Dwyers 51 misses & 398 tackles {15 games} [not so sure about Simon though.]etc. etc.

Ask any player in the NRL who they would rather be taclked by. Fulton or Blair? I know my answer would be Fulton every day of the week.

It is not just about quantity, it is also quality, Blair makes a number of dominate tackles, is very good at slowing down the play ball.
Fulton is a completely different player, who I also rate.

Thats right Goose.

Ellis misses his fair share as well…BUT

The ones that he makes not only hurt but are DOMINANT. Blair is cut from the same cloth. I do wish Gibbs was staying however Blair is a great addition and I look forward to the likes of Lisa gatting on his bandwagon next year when our pack is dominating other sides.

That's what we need more of plenty of our guys are good tacklers but not DOMINANT !!
We don't just need to stop them defensively, we need to sit them on the backsides!

For me the biggest signal of how effective Blair is was how impotent his edge became in defence when he wasn't on. He is an organiser of the line and reads the game well and it was noticably abscent when he was sent

I dont see Liam Fulton copping 5 weeks and missing the semis…. At least there will be no further discussion on Blair's work rate, at least for 6 months.....

with Moltzen gone and Lui and the Beuster on the improve, its safe to say we have found our punching bag for 2012
Blair, Ellis and Heighington, i challenge anyone to name a better back-row anywhere in the NRL in 2012\. Actually because i'm feeling generous i'll throw in the English Super League aswell

Forget club level there's not many rep backrows better than Ellis, Blair, Heigho.
I think you'll find that Melbourne's ruck defence (best in the NRL by a mile) will be considerably less effective with Blair out and his suspension may well cost them the comp (what a shame :slight_smile🙂.

When i so storm last night i know they had lots of players out but adam blair is there leader he is such a gud leader and a foward they are going to miss him our gain there loss 😀

I think you are right! The combination of these three backrowers would be hard to beat. Heighington is the consistent, hard-working lock in attack and defence. Ellis is the very good, wide-running second rower, whose defence is also very good. Blair is the tighter, very good defensive second rower, whose attack is also very good. Hopefully, they will have Dwyer as a back-up, as well as Fulton.
What a back-row to have behind Farrah and the front-row of Galloway, Groat, Murdoch-masila and Woods!
The future is looking good.

I know Smith and Slater were out last night for the Storm but gees their defence seemed considerably weaker without Blair. But then again armchair fans know a lot more then NRL scouts, NRL coaches and international selectors so who knows if he'll be any good for us…

Add Fulton and hopefully Simon Dwyer at some stage and thats the best back row with back up in the NRL easily

Yes I do, Blair's toughness will be missed and make life a little easier for the warriors forwards and a lot harder for the storm forwards. It will also be interesting to see what effect a weakened storm pack has on the games of Smith, Cronk and Slater.

Best wrestler in the NRL
They will miss him big time but will still get the win

Have to agree Happy, with a storm win but then again I was confident about our blokes this time last week, so who knows. That said, it would be a real surprise if the storm lost but in this comp, with its closeness, anything is possible.

Anything is possible with a spine of Slater, Widdop, Cronk and Smith.

You could put a pub team around that, and they'd still give most NRL sides a good run for their money.

Warriors 20 Storm 12
Hats off to the Warriors but I think that shows the difference Blair makes to a team.
