It seemed to be incidental in that he was trying to make a tackle and slipped onto only holding an arm. I don't think it's a multi week suspension especially if they are letting go of shoulder charges. It may be a crap rule but it should be adjudicated if its a rule.

FIFA doesn't have it because it gives them an avenue to fix results. Their rule set is more robust and doesn't have very many grey areas. That's why it appears better in that way.
It comes down the rule set ultimately. That's why AFL is the best code in regard to officials having little scope to shape the match.

Was not even worth a penalty. If the Manly bloke only got 1 week for an illegal and late hit Blair will get off. If he was charged for 3 weeks the club would have to fight it.

The lifting tackle on Ashyford will get one of the Manly players about 2-4 weeks. It was very dangerous.

**Tiger Blair escapes chicken wing ban**

Wests Tigers forward Adam Blair has escaped sanction from the NRL judiciary for a chicken wing tackle in his side's 26-0 defeat in Gosford on Thursday.

The incident drew a penalty, with former referees boss Bill Harrigan suggesting the tackle deserved a "minimum two to three week" ban on Triple M radio.

But the New Zealand international was not charged by the NRL match review committee on Friday.

Sea Eagles prop Brenton Lawrence was slugged with a grade one dangerous throw on Blake Ayshford.
Lawrence will escape a ban with an early guilty plea.
