U work out the difference

What’s to work out. You said a player leaving mid season is scum. You didn’t bother clarifying. You just made a sweeping statement.

Sometimes you should not take comments so literally.?

But then an argument won't start.

Bit harsh calling players that leave their team mid season scum.
There can be all sorts of reasons.
Doesn't make them all Mitch Moses.

I agree, MWZ, Twal and Tui all switched to us mid season last year

As others have said. It isn't skum to leave when you are unwanted.
We did not want Blake Austin at the time because Mitch Moses was going to be our chosen. He wasn't going to command top dollar here OR possibly not be in our starting 17, so left.

World of difference.

I actually appreciated Moses's honesty at the time, He was saying it's all down to the dollar and he wasn't going to be loyal.
I prefer that then the string along. At the time, Austin was the better player. Mitch had "potential" so we stuck with him :frowning:
All of this matters not. I would be glad to sign him again but other then center or bench can't see where he fits.

I dont remeber mitch saying that and remember alot of comments stringing the club on how much he love jason taylor ect. He had a contract the season prior where he could have extended for multiple years but chose the year extention to string us along and try bump up his price tag.

Look it was and is a complex situation that is not easy to explain or one that I can really go into. It’s just my opinion, Everyone is entitled to their own.

For sure and its my opinion a player leaving his team mid season is scum.

No difference except the jumper,,
They all jumped ship , you’re being a tad hypocritical,
.
Apart from that, how do you know any of them were scum?
How many of them do you know?

How many points do you want

Austin is a terrific bench player that you bring on for impact (as he did with us). There’s no place here for him now though.

I don't understand why we would sign Blake Austin when we already have Benji, Brooks, Reynolds and Gamble. I don't understand why we would sign him to play fullback either when we signed Lolohea to do that.

I remember when we had BA before he left us we had long discussions of how he could fit in our team..

I suggested he could either be a Jamie Lyon like play making centre or a ball playing lock like Glen Stewart.

I still believe either of these roles could be an option for Blake in our team or another…

Or he could play #6 at Parramatta.

Can’t defend, and is no better than current options in any position.
If we are going sign players from here on out they need 2 things.
1\. To fit the mould of the team.
2\. Be prepared to get dirty and aim up in defence.
Austin was dropped not for lack of point scoring, but because in the last quarter of their first 2/3 games he folded like paper in defence, becoming a target late in the game.

What exactly is the point?
It’s just like anyone of us leaving our job for another.
It’s not “oh hey it’s christmas better get a new job now”. In reality that’s just not the way things work.
People sign contracts all the time and if a team has no room for a signed player in their 17 each week sometimes they encourage them to seek a future elsewhere.
Or if a player has personal issue’s away from football and a relocation is the answer than sometimes players need to move on.
Is that the point you were trying to make?

We signed Lolohea to play Fullback but replace Moses at 5/8.

As a Moses replacement at 5/8 he was pretty good.

As a fullback, he is in Regges. I would swap Gamble and Lolohea now.

As for Blake Austin. He would make a great Center and he is talented. However yea. we have so many people in the 5/8 position. We need an off the bench X factor but I think that is Marshall this year.

Austin, providing nothing's wrong with him, would be good again for us! Benji is probably playing his final year, and Reynolds days at 5/8 are numbered. He's probably better sharing dummy half duties. Austin has the strength of a lock forward, and would cover the centre well, besides making breaks! But it would all depend on his fitness!
