Noddy on the money, he is scared of stuffing up and it makes him hesitate at the wrong time, when he doesn't hesitate it's because it looks premeditated. I don't want him to be Benji and throw the ball into the crowd every week, but he looks like he is overthinking his role.

The only hope for him is to ignore the losers like us who will never make it and start enjoying his footy again. Otherwise better for him to have a crack somewhere else because at his best he is one of very few decent halfbacks in the NRL.

Not much emotion from me in it, no point bashing a bloke who has a dig when we've had so many soft players you wouldn't piss on if they were on fire.

I think the best thing Madge can do for Brooksy is to let him do his own thing, play in the moment and enjoy his footy.

If he went off to another club and went to another level, it will prove once and for all that it’s the clubs fault. And our club would look stupid as a result.
Most of the time the club looks like its run by amateurs.
If he takes another team to the finals, then so be it.
He's not the right fit for us.
Like @hobbo1 says, punt him.
It's for the best

I agree. Brooks tries hard. He has improved his defence out of sight. His running game can be dangerous. His attacking kicks, when directed at players such as Doueihi and Maumalo are deadly.
He is not a game or man manager, yet coach after coach insists he is. If he had the opportunity to play like Benji did, only touching the ball when something is on, he would become an asset. In the first 50 v Storm, he looked to be enjoying his footy. He looked fast, energetic and enthusiastic. A beautiful run around move for a try and a great kick for Ken. Awesome. But then the Storm clawed their way back into it. This was the time for him to step up and push them back into their box. Keep them down their end, maybe turn the tide with a 40/20, target their tired players in an almost bullying fashion…alas this is the stuff he doesn’t do and hence his polarising status within the club.

Spot on.

The same way Tedesco, Moses, JAC, Aloiai etc all were. Look where they are now.
Where exactly are they? Tedesco lucked into a club in all probability assembled outside the salary cap- but he has done well for himself.
Moses- still trying to get a talent-stacked roster into a prelim or GF. Hasn't succeeded so far. 1 token Origin game where he was bog average.
JAC- tagged onto the edge of a club who is always near the top 4. Now at a club that will finish the year nearabouts WT.
Aloiai- fat as a preggers walrus and struggling for much game time. Hasn't shown anything since he landed at Manly.
Not sure what your point is?

Geez mate. Clutching at straws you are.

It's got to the point where it seems WT is bad for Brooks and Brooks is bad for WT. Our lack of success goes hand in hand with Brooks being one of our playmakers, whether that's on him or the actual club itself is debatable. Everyone knows how lazy journo's are these days so that is why when they are struggling for a story they just rehash the WT, Brooks, no-finals articles. There are other players and teams that have performed as poorly, if not worse, than ours. But that would require a bit of effort on a journo's behalf to research and report about. So they just go back to the tried-and-true fluff articles.
Probably best for both the club and Brooks if they both went their seperate ways IMO.
Maybe becoming a Dad might bring Brooks out of his shell and take up a more dominant and vocal leader? Who knows.
Those rubbish midfield bombs have got to go, he is probably coached to do it but it is absolute garbage and gets our defensive sets on the back foot immediately. Look at the good teams, they drive the ball long into the corners or at the very least find the grass and make the opposition back 3 think a little bit about what's coming their way.
It’s a funny comment your last one. I see a lot of opposing back 3 playing agaisnt the better halfbacks in the game receiving the ball off a long kick and they get it on the run and make it to the 30 nearly every time.
A Brooks ‘boring’ bomb has been going up and down in roughly the same spot which keeps most of the back 3 behind the 20m line and starting their set without any momentum.
At a club with a Forward pack that attacks with defence, Brooks would be a huge asset.
If you watch our games closely we often fail to ‘build pressure’ by failing to follow up the deep bomb with solid defence.
If I’m going to be critical of him, it’s that he plays too safe and uses the full set before a kick. A kick early in the set without a fullback in position would be a nice inclusion. With Hastings able to kick also, we might get a bit of variation there, but it does seem a team tactic at the moment to play the full set before a kick for territory.

Explain then how great they are all going? All of them except Tedesco aren't going a whole lot better in reality.
JAC has won a grand final, the others play in sides that have finished in the top 4. Moses has played Origin. Yet you seem to be arguing they aren’t better off than when they were here?

Brooks drops clearing kicks behind the opposition 20? Not in any game I've watched. His bombs from inside our own half offer no threat, are usually caught easily and brought back to the 40m line or more. Our defence is under pressure field position-wise from that point.
