Defence will get better with coaching and practice. Brooks was a terrible defender when he started but learned how to and is now very good in that regard.

I will give Brooks that accolade his defence has certainly improved !

Brooks is a reserve grade player playing nrl at this stage who plays with him is like shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic douhi was great in attack defence was sub par again bit like the rest of the side

Doueihi has good bombs, excellent cutout passing and a solid running game

Defence was iffy but he’s played fullback all season so he can be given time to fix it

All he’s gotta do is work on short kicking and passing and he’ll be a very handy 5/8

I’m praying brooks continues this little run of decent form he’s got towards the end of the season. He played like 2018/2019 brooks last night it was excellent

I had to work last night and will watch the replay today, having said that I did see Benji left early because of injury and AD played 5/8...just assuming ,but it is funny how Brooks old form come back to life once Benji wasnt there beside him....stiffling effect ..

He's my choice for 6 next season.

He was bought here to be our long term 6, but then Benji got another year and he was given first crack at fullback, so it makes perfect sense to play him there

Benji was signed before Doueihi

Doueihi was bought to replace Benji at 6

Not for 2020

Maybe not, but he was our long term 6, and he should be playing there, Benji should have been watching Doueihi play 6 for quite a while now

Doueihi was bought as a fullback for 2020 with the option of moving him to 5/8th in 2021. I think 2020 has shown he is a centre and is not a fullback or 5/8th

He played all his juniors at five eight, if he wasn't a 6 why didn't one of his junior coaches move him, and why did Bennett tell him he was going to be souths 6, they can't all be wrong

Curtis Sironen was a 6 in the juniors as well, Bennett thought he would be so good in the 6 he released him early.

When did Bennett even coach Curtis, let alone release him early, he played here then went to Manly

Sorry, 2 seperate points, Curits Sironen was a 5/8th as a junior and Bennett thought Doueihi was such a good 6 that he released him from Souths

Bennett, had an origin player at 6 and test player at 1, hardly a fair call to say he didn't rate Doueihi because he released him, you can't stock pile players unles you are the roosters

A 1 he just bought to replace Doueihi, who he had told would have 1st shot at the 1

A fullback who quite a number of teams tried to sign, headed by us, a very poor comparison to support your argument that Doueihi is not a 6.
Easts let Pearce go to sign Cronk, and Pearce is an origin half, doesn't mean Pearce is no good at 7

No they are not my reasons for why he isn't a half was just countering your claims that he was a good 6 because he played there in the juniors, so did Sironen. The other claim was Bennett told him he was a 6 but then turned around and released him so both those arguments lose weight.

The reason I believe he is a centre and not a 5/8th is a combination of his running and passing games, he is awkward when chiming into the line, he has awesome footwork at the line which is a true asset but it makes it difficult for the backline to time their run of him. His passing game while good at times is inconsistent and he appears to lack a spiral pass to move the ball quickly. These are only my observations but that is the reason for my opinion.

Are you onboard with my opinion now, Benji was holding us back, Doueihi is a 6 and he and Brooks can work together, and work well, the coaches weren't wrong

Am happy with brooks/ad being our first choice halves pairing next year...my only concern is composure which brooks has never had. But that 2nd half definitely debunked the “where our are points coming from next year” myth

Our biggest worry, once again heading into next year seems to be defense

Certainly was good to see we can still score.

Now we have just removed a speed bump with minimal downside

The sad thing is AD was even worse in defence than Benji. However, he probably hasn’t trained there so I’m confident with an off season there he’ll be fine.

Can't agree that he is anywhere near as poor defensively, though I don't understand why he needed to resort to a shoulder (back) charge when Sivo was literally on the sideline, something he was lucky not to get pinged for earlier in the year.

For the sake of maximizing our current roster i hope Madden proves able but if not I’d prefer to see Mbye step up at 5/8 and AD into centre. We obviously need a quality fullback (one with pace). This would give us some first receiver options and variety as well as kicking options.

Mbye is left handed/footed and plays on the left side of the field, same as Brooks.

If Brooks is playing in the middle as he has the last 3 games, Doueihi playing 5/8 can be the playmaker on the right.

If you have a ballplaying fullback they can be the playmaker on the left, if not a centre or 2nd rower can the part time playmaker on the left. Mbye is not the fastest or most powerful centre but he is a good ball player.

Doueihi did well playing on both sides of the field last night but you still need to have a basic structure.

Brooks in the middle with Doueihi at 5/8 on the right and Mbye playing fullback and covering the left could also work. At 100% fitness Mbye is quite a good fullback but obviously not on the same level as the top fullbacks.

I would rather have the best 1, 6, 7 and 9 in the comp but you have to work with what you can get.

It was more his decision making, falling for dummies etc. which are fixable.

His shoulder charges are strange, not the first time he's done that.

Was he?, i saw him make one mistake by rushing ahead of the line.
But that can be forgiven was putting in 100% and probably trying to finally get some line speed in our attack

I can see Doueihi being used as a Jack Wighton style running 5/8 next season... Regardless of what's been said about him in the past, he's been a great signing thus far.

On another note, I think we've found Talau's best position. Looked really good in the centres and AJ was pretty decent on the wing as well

the old adage " dont weaken one position to strengthen another" rings true here, but if we can get BJ firing, and Talau or Momorovski to kick on, AD at 7 will be a revelation and not weaken us in the centres. He didnt shirk the responsibility under trying circumstances, he stepped up. I am a little excited. JAC being our FB has me cringing though, and AD will likely pay the piper in that situation.

AD took charge for a good chunk and 'stifled' Brooks you could argue. Then Brooks took charge last 20 mins.

Its always everybody elses fault...maybe Brooks explained to AD what he expected seeing AD has been at the back for most of the season and then in centre...
