Brooks & Moses on the way out..?

I read an article today that many clubs were chasing Moses. I can see why as I think he has the most potential of our two halves.

It seems strange that as a club after investing and frankly paying overs for our halves pairing that we would appear to be shopping them around. It doesn't seem that the club knows what they want to do.

My way of thinking is that a spine of Tedesco, Moses, Brooks and Cherrington could take us to the top of the ladder within 2 years but would need the right coaching and supporting players.

Agreed, especially the clubs that were mentioned as the front runners…Raiders & Panthers

Panthers have Martin, Soward, Moylan, Cleary, Wallace, ZDC all vying fot a spot in their halves, why would they waste money on another half?

Raiders have Austin, Sezer and Williams...Only reason they might sign him is to play fullback but Wighton seems to have that covered.

The fact they expect people believe that half the competition is after a still unproven 21 yr old who at times is nothing more than a turnstyle in defence is even more laughable than Dean Ritchie's article about Wests facing the prospect of paying Farah's entire salary while he's playing for another club.

You are naive my friend. Other clubs can get TPA's to match the salary and only have half the amount under the cap.

You don't say. And how are TPA's relevant to what i was saying?

Very. If you pay $600k for a player and $300k are TPA's you will sign him.Poorly financed clubs like us have to pay $600k under the cap. Clubs that can get TPA's will punt on talent.
Moses will have offers from better clubs.

This is not news.
80% of the comp would have a half dozen clubs 'interested' in them, let alone halves that have come through at rep level.

Thank you for explaining how TPA's work. But i'm still scratching my head in regards to what part of my post was relevant to TPA's.

You were making the point that clubs chasing Moses 'Was Laughable'

He would have plenty of clubs chasing him as would any juniors that came through the Australian Schoolboys as juniors. My point about TPA's was under the new rules poorly run clubs like us lose out and the risk of players leaving like Moses is much greater.

I'm not saying there wouldn't be any clubs interested, but 7? Come on.

7 is a stretch for sure.

I don't think it works like this. If a player is valued at $600k that is what has to go under the cap.

If that's what the nrl think is market value then yes.

Why would you sign for 300k and a TPA top up of 300k ( with the possibility of that TPA falling through or reneged as has happened to a number of players ) when you could sign for a guaranteed 600 k paid in full.

Agree. and I don't think he leaves as I don't thick the status quo will remain.
I suspect both farah and taylor won't be there at the end of 2016.
