Brooks.... what is he good for??

Agree with some that Marshall will be the dominant playmaker for the rest of the year. Will be interesting when Reynolds can come back what Madge does.. Brooks or Reynolds or neither. At least we have depth for injuries with Marshal Walters Brooks Reynolds

I think there should be a fullback coach a winger coach a centre coach, halves coach, lock coach backrow coach hooker coach bench coach outside the 17 coach all except Props..they don't need a coach..just bash it up an bash the opposition down..

I don't believe anyone could argue Johns and Barrett have not improved Moses and Cleary.

Well Johns hasn't been involved since covid with Slimey..

Also both those team have had a consistent platform week in week out for them to work off..except Parra last week and they lost..

The Penrith game also yesterday for the 1st 60-65 minutes they struggled against an ave Cows side to score points ..in the end the Cows fell apart...

None of that has anything to do with Coaching

Wests Tigers are getting there with consistency provide a platform over the past month..

So you are arguing Cleary and Moses have not improved their play due to individual coaching from Barrett and Johns?

Not at all...I'm arguing all the coaching in the World won't make much difference unless the other 15 players don't provide a platform for any half to work off..

There’s no harm in bringing in a quality halves coach then is there. Can only be a positive thing to have our boys learning off the greats

Brooks don’t need a halves coach , he needs a new occupation..

That is why the bigger clubs were chasing him. We need to look at our system and bringing in specialist halves coaching not only for Brooks but Madden and Camroux.

We have Benji. Why can’t he be our halves coach next year? They constantly talk about how much work he does helping the young guys, one of the boys even said he’s like having another coach. He’d be my first choice for the role

Absolutely but he may want to play on. No doubt Benji can bring his magic to coaching the young halves.

Ever thought that Brooks can't be coached to be any better?

No, that is a narrative convenient to those who don't rate him.

Or, maybe the truth. Brooks has never been the organiser. He can run and defend well, not much else- tactical kicking below average

We must be watching a different Brooks. His kicking for repeat sets is outstanding. His kicking, both defensive bombs and kicks to trap the fullback or winger near the corners is great. And winning Dally M halfback from a modestly performing club whose forwards in the past have been smashed is a great achievement.

There are just to many excuses for Luke ., if he has not made his mark by now he never will ... in saying that I believe a change of clubs would reinvigorate his career a coach like Bellamy would be the key ! Whether he has the character to seek a release and take another path in his career is the unknown ... he has gone as far as he can at the Tigers .. he has talent but is just to comfortable!

The team hasn't made it's mark in how many years! Should the entire team change clubs because they are too comfortable?

I've got to agree here Paws, the forward packs we have had for the entirety of Brooks career have not been great yet this years and next are starting to look good plus a strike left centre would be nice. One thing does confuse me though and that is he cant throw a spiral pass right to left or at least I cant remember him doing it, is he playing on the wrong side? I think the time on the bench will be good for him though and he should come back better for it.

Free up some cash for us potentially

With the funds freed up we could extend and upgrade Nofa

The entire team doesn't stick its hand up at the start of the year saying "I own this team'

Brooks is only good for taking 650k out of the salary cap each year. After 150 games he still hasn't stepped up controlled the game, managed play, organised us or provided effective options. He has been continually dominated by Moses, Marshall, Farrah and whoever plays 6 as he lacks the confidence, management are still looking at mentoring him, AFTER 150 1ST GRADE GAMES. Time to go or play CC is next year. Doueihi is the future, his time at fullback will give him a greater understanding of the back line and positional play to compliment him footy IQ
