Campbelltown Stadium

I thought the new lift behind the western grand stand was to allow disabled access to the 2nd tier (ie the grandstand) on the western side. Only those going to the function area or media were being allowed to use it yesterday.

The disabled access area is on the same level. In front of the canteen and toilets.

Its a below par ground and 8mil hasnt changed anything for supporters. The media, players and corporates may be better of but the joint is still decades behind other grounds that we could use.

What are these other grounds you speak of?

Are these grounds that the fans would be happy to call 'home'?

Parra,ANZ ans SFS to start with, all far superior grounds.
As for the fans being happy to call them home, well we've regularly got bigger crowds at ANZ and SFS than Cambo. I know people whinge on here but bums on seats is hard to argue against.

On the way out there were a lot of peeps in Magpie gear saying we played like Balmain and blaming the orange jumpers…..

Don't feel too special... back when the magpies were in first grade the supporters used to blame the white jerseys when we lost in them. Not sure who we blamed when we wore our black jerseys... the ref probably

I don't think any more people could fit yesterday, looked absolutely packed on TV. They mentioned people still waiting to get into the stadium after kick-off.

Yeah …lets bash Campbelltown to death.....

All of it true unfortunately...

Hope the Upgrades to to Old Girl are done with class and fans in mind not $$$$$$$$$$...

Also the Western Grandstand was not sold out,...unless peeps didint turn up...there where at least 30 seats in bay 31 empty....

Yeah I was in Bay 31\. Had 3 empty seats next to me and four empty seat in front. I thought the new seats there were comfortable, though a bit tighter for leg room. Had to try to remember they are flip down seats now on the one or two occasions the on field action was exciting enough to bring me to my feet.

The spacing between rows of seats is hopeless. I'd hate to be anywhere near 6 foot - and woe-be-tide if anyone wanted to exit for a pee (or ice-cream).
Not worth the $38 in the grandstand, but would have been bearable if the game was of a first grade standard.

I'm assuming they didn't change the step width of the Western grandstand, so is it just because the new seats are less space effective?

Just shy of 20,000 on Sunday. Bums on seats is hard to argue against.

When was the last time the Rorters drew 20K for a game at the SFS…..

Reminds me of the first year or so of the merge, my dad and I used to say when we won it was the Tigers, when we lost it was Wests.

The leg room wasn't that bad but it is a bit of a pain when some people keep coming in and out. Some people in my row were going to the loo every 20 mins. 😕

He got it wrong. It's the other way around. :stuck_out_tongue:

The journo is me - I'd be very grateful for anyone who could answer the PM.

As Bret said I'm writing a story on the Campbelltown upgrade - after a few complaints on here I was interested to gauge the opinion of Tigers fans.
