I like the team as it currently is, with Douiehi at 1 at Walters at 6. Great to have a safe fullback and a good defender in the middle. We're not far off.

Walters is only a stop gap measure.

What a difference a week makes and what a difference the opposition makes. Walters looked like the answer to all our half combo problems last week against the Broncos, he was sensational. Back to being average this week against quality opposition.

I guess it’s like those times when players like Kerrod Holland, Krishnan Inu and Anthony Don looked like world beaters playing against us only to revert back to average players in the following weeks against the better sides.

That was one of the toughest games we've played in years. So much went against us.
- Injuries coming into the game.
- The possession stats were ridiculous. At the start of the second half, we had one set, they had seven sets.
- Michael Chee Kam injury within 60 seconds on the field.
- HIAs to Doueihi (didn't return) and McIntyre (returned).

Our guys never gave up. I am adamant that was an 80 minute performance. I am very proud of that effort.

Shout out to Shawn Blore on his debut. Showed a lot of promise. My highlight was when Nathan Brown thought he could haze the new kid, and Blore showed him who is boss.

prefer the win though

I'm not even having a go at him by saying that, he is a good footballer, but that is all he is. If he had a strong dominate half next to him he would do a role for you. The problem is he doesn't have that.

Yes, agree that Mbye did look better at fullback, but every time a bomb when up I thought "here we go.."

Yeah he struggles under the highball, a combination of Doueihi and Mbye would be perfect.

45% possession, 2-8 penalty count. Can’t win games against decent teams with those numbers.

We can clearly compete though. A lot of lesser sides would have rolled over and probably conceded 40 points

Any other year, we get rolled by 50 last night.

Guess the performance answered the "is the 2020 team better than the 2019?" question!

Looking forward to getting some important troops back, and the boys will take a lot from the game.

Don’t know who’s idea it was when we had 4 sets in a row and had parra on the ropes we get a penalty so we go for goal wow changed the whole momentum of the game that’s a sign you don’t trust your attack

It was the wrong option,we needed to keep pressure on their defence as it was looking shaky.Parras confidence lifted when we had a shot at goal

I don't necessarily agree. It put us 8 in front which was a sensible buffer. There's no guarantee we score off that set at all.

I also don't agree nor believe that teams get confident when you take a shot at goal, otherwise why do teams take an easy 2? It's a myth.

We completed the next set after the penalty just fine - we made it to halfway from our runs and the kick was contested by Doueihi (knocked on) at the Parra 12m line. If you are a genuine side you will want to back yourself to defend any set that the opposition starts inside their own 20m. But we failed to do so. It may have been an error to still have Aloiai on, at this point it was the 19 minute mark and he's looking gassed when Davey makes the offload, with a totally weak effort to cover the draw-pass from Gutherson to RCG.

My main issue with the decision was how wide out Mbye was, but he kicks well from the RHS as a lefty.

It was just a bad defensive effort all over, RCG ran around Doueihi. I don't mind a fullback getting ranover by a front rower but not ran around by one.

Two things, the offload would of been prevented if Mbye came in high as the second man and wrapped up the arm.
Secondly you’ve already had your say here and it hard to convince you otherwise however the decision in my opinion to kick the penalty was wrong.
The way I see it is yes parramatta were always going to get into the game, but It wasn’t just the points that was beneficial from continuing play after that penalty. I would of been happier missing out on the two points and conceding a chance for 4-6 If it meant the we continued to apply the pressure on Parramatta regardless. That game we were long odds of winning, parramatta had the short turn around and took their time to get into the match, we were pressing them up until that point. That wasn’t a game we needed to our grind parramatta to win. That was a game where we needed to blow parramatta away from the get go and just keep pushing them the whole game.

Yep we were a player or 2 short - BJ, Musgrove, Twal, Reynolds and then in the 2nd half we were short thise 4 and Literally 4 blokes short on our bench. Eels came into the game full strength and we came into it with only 19 fit players out of 30

We play like that every week in defence, we’ll make finals.

Difficult to do much in attack with Mbye at fullback and whoever was playing left centre.

I thought we looked a lot better when Mbye went to fullback, he was a lot more involved than AD

Can't catch a bomb which is important for a fullback.

I know I was just saying I disagree but I don’t expect to convince you otherwise as your sounded quite explicit in your post.

Doueihi can catch a bomb just can’t tackle just look at the way he tried to tackle sivo and rcc

Am I the only person who thinks Lane has one of the most punchable heads in the comp???

We lost, but realistically the slimers didn't outplay us by much......a bad defensive read, a chip and chase and down on troops and we were still contending??? they didn't by any means carve us up all night like many were expecting.

He has a terrible tackling technique.

MMoses and princess Gutho have equally the most punchable heads.
