Moses also was up last year and did a one year extension. Then he went on his point to prove run giving him his next lucrative contract and the tigers a chance of making the eight.

This chance would have been secured by most nrl halfs, yet Moses let it slip.

It wasn't an extension, he took up an option of an extra year in his previous contract.

He wants the team to string some wins together before he decides, yet his procrastination and the media garbage going with that is causing distraction affecting the teams performance. Why can't he see this?

He wants the team to perform before he makes a decision so he's in a good frame of mind - an external source involving many people….. Yet Moses decision is "his decision" and it's up to him and nothing else can be done?

I think I know who needs to see a shrink

Unbelievable how unwilling they are to admit their share of the blame, from dragging it out to not putting 2 and 2 together and realising that how we perfom is weighed heavily on them. Woods is an Australian prop for Gods sake. Is he really implying that its up to a bunch of kids if he's going to stay? They have to win the games? Lets hope Chee Kam or Suli don't drop another ball over the line. Our Australian prop and captain may use that as the impetus to leave.

I feel the same way but I think it's not them alone. I genuinely think they are getting bad advice from their manager and head whisperer the Bumbling duo. And now RF, I love the guy but he is bitter and twisted towards the club and his advice will be tainted. But I do like one of his quotes from yesterday paraphrasing " when I was captian I got teddy to stay now it's up to Woods"

I think the smartest of the 4 was brooks (unless we were by far and away the best offer), Moses listens to the bumbling duo and ended up at parra, now these two run the gamble of missing out and then making a rash decision. Although their option appear better than parra.

The club could have also moved to extend at least one of their contracts last year instead of leaving all four at once. If they were always in their long term plans why leave them to be done together. Blind freddy could tell you that they were all going to attract interest from other clubs.
You want to unselttle any team have your four best players + Nofo up for contract at the same time!

They did try to extend both Moses and Brooks, but they decided just to take their one year option, also I know there were a few attempts to get Teddy stitched up late last year but like the others he wanted to test the market and see what direction the club was headed

it takes two to tango… The players knee the cap was increasing, why would they sign early when there's the chance of more?

It's all about how much juice they can squeeze out of the Lemon so to speak and Moses confirmed it as the Club rebuffed there offer and Moses had a hissy fit and asked for a Release…..Sad really spoilt little brat.

They don't care about the Club if they did they would of never let it drag this long .

Our Captain and ferocious leader said once he knew the Coach he would sign on the dotted line pfftt!!! I love there famous quotes " It's not all about the money " what the Hell is it then ?

No wonder our fans have had enough and i could see such crisis occurring when they allowed Moses and Brooks to take up there 1 year Options ( Club had no control i suppose ) but you can see what was going to Transpire .

I'm happy to start all over again without Teddy , Woods and Moses , this is exactly what the Club has been needing for years a Coach like Cleary laying the Law and if you don't want to buy into his vision ? get of the Bus.
Either way we will be getting into the player Market and purchasing players the only problem i see is we are going to have to pay overs to get good quality players cause the perception of NRL players about our Club is that we are a dysfunctional Organisation and you need good money to go to a struggling Club .

There are lots of good comments on this forum and many make sense. You can understand Woods's procrastination to some degree. He wants to play for a successful club, one that qualifies for the semis on a regular basis. I also think he is very torn as I believe he loves the club and wants to stay. However, having said all that, he should make his decision sooner rather than later. A captain needs to lead from the front, both on and off the field and he has shown, via his incoherent and weak media performances that he is not really capable of providing the leadership off the field. I agree that he is most likely getting bad advice from his manager and other sources and probably doesn't want or need the captaincy right now. I think Cleary should have a quiet chat to Woodsy and Tedesco where he gives them a deadline for their decisions. Ivan should explain that their procrastination is having a negative effect on the club and that they need to sign or not sign immediately after Round 8\. That would provide a fair compromise for all concerned.

I would have thought that every NRL player would want to play for a top club and win premierships. That's a given.

The reality is that it's not possible for everyone to play for the top clubs. Woods and Tedesco probably want to stay but if the Tigers pay what they want then there's no money to build a strong team around them. Back to square one, again.

It's ground hog day, right?

Those 4 players can or could have made this place a top club.
Sense the so called independent board is in place that is much more settled.
Pascoe seems like he is pretty well switched on CEO.
Kelly Egan has good pedigree coming from Manly.
And now a no nonsense coach in Cleary.
It's up to them to turn the club into a top 8 side.

Kent looked at him like he was an imbicile when he tried to say that he hadn't sat down with his manager to look at what offers were on the table.

No - its not up to them - its up to the people running this club to turn it into a top 8 side. Woods and Teddy alone can only do so much and they have been in our system for a while now and not much has changed - yet individually they have both achieved rep level.

Clearys appointment is probably the most positive step the club has made for as long as I can remember but he has been here for two weeks - hardly time for anyone to see what level of difference he can make.

One forumer has posted a couple of times that James Maloney will never play for the Wests Tigers - the question everyone should be asking is - why?
That is not a player problem that is a perception about our club problem - when desirable players who have never been in our system wont have a bar of us.
All the players we let go slot into other clubs systems and perform well that cant be ignored - and this whole silly notion that "no man is bigger than club" is an over used throw away line that doesnt address why 4 players offered good money are reluctant to committ.
The club seems to be moving forward but they have some work to do and yes the players are taking time to sign and I for one can understand that without resorting to questioning their loyalty and character.

Hey gnr, who are you referring to here?

Just say we off Maloney a 5 year $800k per year contract and Cronulla provide the next best offer of $500k for 2 years. Would he come then ?

I don't care how well someone knows a player. Clearly in today's game it's all about money. If we manage the cap well then we may quickly go from a dud club to a great club. Look at Cronulla. They've been an absolute mess but Maloney went there and won the comp.

Thing with Graham is that apparently his contract is heavily backended (same as Farah - $1m for the season) would have to heavily subsidised by Dogs wherever he goes.

Maybe some of the good players in the NRL don't see enough grunt in our supposed superstars to want to come here. If they were that good players would bend over backwards to play with them, for unders even.

Anyway, the devastation I initially felt at the thought of losing these guys has evaporated. It's weird how it's changed, because I actually feel to re-sign these guys ( now down to two) would be a mistake. They want leaders money, but leading is beyond them. They are sheep who want to follow the flock to the "semis".

Woods just wants to play "good footy" it's out of his hands, he lets his manager sort that stuff out. It's not about money but if the Tigers don't pay him as much as the other clubs are offering he'd be stupid not to go.
Why don't they just be honest and admit it's about the money? They're not fooling anyone

Wow now mannah talking up Issac and wehbe. Enough said. I'd be glad to see their influence away from this team.
