CEO Forum 20 Jan 26 - Hotwash Part 1

Thanks Jolls for the info , sounds like it was worth the trip , many questions still to be answered like the make up of the new board , how many will be independent , The Bulla signing sounds like it’s more a stand off with Shaun not giving anything away except Bulla wants to stay and, he probably can’t say as it’s Bulla management who is holding the gun to us , it was always going to be this way , On Barry O I’m a bit off with him coming back , he was sacked for no reason , why would you come back after that

Thanks for the update @Jolls, much appreciated.

Still very wary of HBG and this "Collective Strength" due to the way that HBG act and have acted, and it just sounds like an appeasement to PVL than actual action, but time will tell if it is or not.

Also will be interesting to see these new board members and especially their links to others (are they good business people, but mates of HBG people who will just give more power to them, or are they truly independent and chosen for their ability over who they know). That will make a lot of decisions for me as to whether I can believe any of this or if it is just playing to PVL while still not being the right setup for the club.

I don't think the invite does much to improve the club in ther short term. It is part of that circular development - to grow members you need to connect with them and the commnity they are likely to come from that provide income and incemtive which drives results which get more mebers etc. This is simply a communications exercise - that they may get a couple of ideas from. It allows the club to demonstrate that members matter; when the reality is that we are an income stream that they want to grow and communication is part of that process.

The benefit of attending is that I got to gauge what I thiought was genuine and what was fluff and get a feel for where I think they plan to go. I feel better having attended as I know the plan behind the strategy. There is a long way to go- but I think we have opportunities now that Pascoe and Hagipants didn't have. I don't think Shaun is Pascoe v2.0 asI think PVL/Richo have given him a foundation to grow the club from.

It will be intersting to see what feedback comes from the other sessions.

Would you be able to expand on comments on Leo Epifania was that reference to old comment he made or was he there?

Also do you think Laundy will come to the WT in any capacity?

One other thing that comes to mind from the COE tour- completely irrevelant information though.

The barber's chair is back!

Apparently the players requested its return as some of them want to practice their grooming skills. It was mentioned that if you notice some slick hair dos about the man with the skills on the scissors and clippers is one Heamasi Makasini.
People called Justin Pascoe silly for demanding a barbershop in the club HQ. And here we are years down the track and one of the hottest prospects we have ever had is making himself at home in it. Galaxy brain moves from Pascoe.

No matter what SM or Barry O Barrel says we still have two major problems. One is, we are so under funded and second, HBG.

It is going to take a very long time for players and supporters to have any trust in the HBG and our funding will always struggle while the HBG are running the show
Yes that is the issue with Shaun's plan.: it is dependent upon changing the relationship the club has with HBG.

A walk in the park compared to politics I’d say. Also keeps him in the media if he ever wanted another crack

HE said his reason for coming back is PVL - without his intervention he wouldn't have netertained the idea. This is a glimmer of light at the end of the HBG tunnel.

Thanks mate love your work and I’m one who is glad to hear that PVL may have put a cracker into the HBG folks , they needed it and if BO returned via PVL I think the HBG folks have been warned with some serious words about what he expects to happen this year including no dumb shit like what happened just recently, and to leave the board alone , stay in their lane type thing , I also feel this may help the team as word gets back to them that the big boss is on the Wests Tigers side and won’t cop crap from HBG , could be the sting we needed to wake up this giant sleeping club ,thanks again Jolls

No thanks needed, I just turned up, listened and gave my 2 cents worth when I thought it was warranted. PVL, if we take BOF at his word, has probably provided the stability the club needs to wake it from the infighting that has plagued us since inception.
