Chammas Article

If that’s the case, they aren’t much different to Galvin. Id like to think they’d be a bit more professional than that.
The bigger problem is Benji. Both times when we showed him the door as a player he dragged the club through the mud on the way out and he's in a much more influential position now.

I think he probably should go regardless if results don't improve in the next 10 weeks, but it will be messy.

Is that true though? Or forum gossip/speculation?

I don’t know him obviously .., but it’s more media than anything …. I don’t pay attention to what people say here…

Based on the comments Benji makes on camera, he is tight as a drum with Luai and Api … one has get out clauses and the other hasn’t re- signed yet …although we have seen these days that you don’t need a contract to force your way out …

I assume you watched them play last week … if thats what it looks like without without Luai and Api at hooker than keep Benj here another year and hope for the best … last week without them was straight back to the past three years …

I wouldn’t banish him from the club. I’d offer him a different role. Whether his ego would take a new role is another question. Have no doubt he’d have a cushy media gig waiting for him somewhere.

This is what I feel is happening.

I'm not commenting on all the fluff off the field, but what concerns me about Marshall is what is happening on the field on game day, and I've seen enough.

New players have come in, all from very good systems, but team-wide, there are still the same issues from recent seasons - lack of attention to detail, lack of discipline, dumb errors.

Then its the selections and interchanges. Yes, he lost his fullback and then his main half the night before the game. Ends up completely rearranging the spine where every single player starting the Manly game had not started the Canberra game in their new position, and only Latu had played in the same position the previous week. Furthermore, they did not get one training session together in these positions.

Also, in this weeks (v Roosters) player media with Hope, Twal, Skelton, etc, there is/are player(s) off-camera ruining every interview. Where are the basic standards in this club? That's what the media sees, and what they compare to other clubs.
It does give off a perception that we’re falling down the ladder and the care factor is zero. Time and place kind of stuff.

If they weren’t around, it’s over 2 million dollars that would be reinvested in another 7 and 9. What we saw last week wasn’t a snapshot into what life would be like if they left.

Exactly they either want to play for the club or they don’t.
We can’t have any players dictating who our coach is.
If Luai, Korisau and Bula walked out tomorrow, that would be close to 3 million dollars in our cap to replace them.
Plenty of quality NRL players eyes would light up with the thought of getting their share of that type of money.

if benji luai and api leave you may as well fold the club
no decent 7 & 9 will join if everyone left no matter how much money we throw at them. it’s the big 4 all over again
I think it’s premature to be claiming they are going to be leaving. Hopefully they prioritise winning over being besties with the coach.

ah yes the same scenario we were faced with under madge & sheens
spoiler alert no one decent joined the club and we paid overs for every body
3 million dollars is nothing with dolphins here, Perth & PNG coming in too.

I don’t think we have anyone who is irreplaceable in our current team, maybe only Terrell May.

I’d say we are a more preferred destination for most players, ahead of Perth and PNG.
