McQueen's neck injury is a concern…talk he may not play again this year....

Ive watched McQueen a bit since we signed him and he works hard but he just didn't look himself, no speed in his runs, dropping off tackles things his not renowned for. Looked like he was exhausted or carrying an injury but trying to play through. If it is serious and does need the remainder of the year to recover that's the best possible scenario for it to be discovered this year and not when he comes to us. Hopefully he will be well rehabilitated by the time his ready to play with us.

I agree with this.

I watched McQueen lately too and the dropping off tackles was a huge concern. Hopefully it was due to the neck and getting that right is the best thing

All good , just get Brooks to be his minder in defence .

Always a risk signing 30+ players to long term contacts.Having said that hope he makes a full recovery for next year

It's often a quick down hill path isn't it.

Never was comfortable with this signing from when I first heard we we're looking at him, IMO he's past it, stock standard average footballer at best.
This will be another dud WT signing

I'm worried about this signing and the Reynolds signing. I think Lawrence and Taylor are both better than McQueen.

Yeah me too. McQueen, in particular, appears to be well past his best and Reynolds can be more of a liability than an asset with his stupid brain explosions at crucial times during a game. I guess we can only hope that a change of club will give them a new lease of life. McQueen was a better back rower than both Lawrence and Taylor in his prime, so he does have it in him, but I think we may have signed him too late.

Injury aside the sentiment on McQueen I don't agree with. He is tough as nails, versatile, quick and good defensively in a position we are lacking. He also signed for 400k which, is low for a cap which, may be 9.5-10m. If he slows down and is used in a bench utility he is still worth 400k. 10m/30 players of which some will be rookies etc on next to nothing will mean the squad average is 300k.
Each club will have 5 rookies on minimum 100k so it's really 25 players into 9.5m or 380k.

He was showing great form early in the year, just hope he was playing injured to help the team out, and will be fine next year

So still out injured..wasn't there and injury update from the Titans saying McQueen would be back after the BYE..?

Their round 19 update just said it was a week to week prospect with his neck. It's apprently better this week than last week.

No mention of Boyle in their round 19 injury update, so looks like he's just been dropped. Could mean he's signed elsewhere, or could just mean they think he's crap…

McQueen has been playing injured for a while. news is he needs neck surgery and could be out for 4 months. He should get it done now if it's the case. Titans are out of the running.

He's one of the quickest backrowers now. Getting older but more mobile than anyone in our pack.

This is starting to have a familiar ring to it already.
Is there a limit to the number of crock purchases who we can employ to be a club Mr. Nice Guy.
Let's hope there's a clause in his contract that states that he has to pass a stringent medical exam before he starts here

20 years ago yes, now not so much. Recovery protocols and sports science have lengthened the competitive lives of players.

We need to top up our forward depth. Suggest that a couple of front liners like McQueen, Grant and Sue should be back up players only.
Think Eisenhuth shows more than most of them

To be fair he wasn't injured when the Tigers signed him nor does anyone know the extent of it.
