so who would we realistically land? who in their right mind want to come here?

Take a breath you blokes. You think it was our structures that caused that? A bumbling, fumbling team, that didn't show up, hit a Melbourne team who showed up, landed every Harlem globetrotters play and bent us over inside 20 minutes. The boys were gassed and gone from there. They are just THAT much better.

Madge doesn't coach leg rebounds into their hands. He doesn't coach talau's butterfingers, he doesn't coach not wrapping up the ball. We are a currently a team who is all promise and potential and zero execution. I don't have the answer as to why the execution is not there, but the structures are. Remember, we have now, through the worst run of our season, been missing either our 5/8 or a centre on the edge. That's messed us up tremendously.

Add to that the damaging nature of momentum. Give one team 100% of the ball over the first 20 mins and it's near impossible to come back. Make that team Melbourne and its game over.

We were woeful.... But this is not a golden bullet coach issue. That's a cheap, easy excuse. It's an execution and effort issue. That is ENTIRELY on the players.

mate I agree with you, but what else can the guy do? He isn't inspiring this team to greatness, and he picks them every week, and signed a lot of them.
Like I have said on a previous thread if this is a game the players threw to get rid of him then that'll do me....

I think Maguire is done. He's getting nothing out of this side and he isn't an innovative coach who's able to bring about change. I think he's cooked.

Walker Brothers , or even Flanagan

it hurts that is for sure. getting harder and harder to support them.

For me, it is like "unconditional love", guilty as charged! 😢

Whoever is responsible for our passive, back-pedalling defensive structure needs to be sacked immediately for a start.

Exactly!! Who the hell comes up with this crap? Against the freaking Storm of all teams, instead of in and up and bustle , some genius decides “nah, it’s the storm, let’s stand back and hive them time to run onto it and come up with something, and let’s not sting in defence but be passive and hold them up and assist the offload” GOD HELP ME! 😡🤬🤯😠

Our coach talks defensive toughness and resolve and we have gone backwards. He isn’t improving this team at all. We struggled for wins against reserve grade sides.

Defensive structures are the coaches issue.

Lack of a senior leader actually leading is a coach issue.

Consistently not turning up each week is a coach issue.

We have the 2nd worst defense in the comp, we are regressing not progressing.

The coach doesn’t have the squad buying in, he doesn’t know how to coach this team and he is building a team he wants.

The buck must stop with him as he and his team aren’t even close to performing.

100pts in 2 weeks conceded thats not just a player issue.

Forum meltdown has begun

Only taken 10 years

Will someone finally hold this club accountable

NRL should threaten the to kick us out of the comp if we can't make the 8 by 2025

Absolutely…….I have no clue as to why or how anybody can justify defending Madge and his record with this team! There is no statistic or quantifiable variable to use to support it!

Great post mate.

40 easy points mainly down one edge last week...pack smashed...yet absolutely no adjustments or changes.

That has to be on the coach. He can't do NOTHING, but then act like it is other people's faults.

I still think Madge is a good coach but he should not be allowed to select the team - too much “Brooksy” “Tommy” “Moses” etc - he’s shown too much loyalty in under performing players - how embarrassing when the lower grades are smashing it but those players aren’t getting a sniff - that will be Sheens’ domain (even though he had his own issues with a weird commitment to Daniel Fitzhenry)

I disagree, he definitely cares.

But he is an introverted shy, kid. He does not have it in his personality to lead.
