@WT2K Oh... Please... I guess we'll most likely be having this exact situation in a couple seasons' time? These blokes were the ones who convinced DCE to do what he did when he got that massive payout a few years back, now they're doing this with Matto, if Garner has a breakout season best believe this will be repeated.

@Telltails If his form warrants him to play first grade so be it, but if he starts kicking stones like Moses , then he should be dropped, No player friend or not wants a team member not trying. For team harmony he should be just let off his contract as I said b4 it gives an indication that any team member can just leave the club on any whimsical reason, which is not good.

I just read some twit who supports Parramatta who commented the Eels would have an unbelievable team if they got Matterson, Well yeah so unbelievable the salary cap auditors may need to be called in! Seriously, does anyone believe a dirty deal has not already been done? This move to send him to the Titans will flush (operative word) this other club to disclose its interest,

This will be the third team he has had a sook about and left , either for opportunity or bad relations . The dude is 25 next year .
I think the Titans is the go . Arrow wants to get paid . He’s a leader , and Brimson has potential .
I personally think that the emergence of garner has now made the loss if Matto acceptable .
I have an analogy for you all .
In around 2009 , Steph curry was the backup point guard behind Monta Ellis for the golden state warriors . Monta was having a sook at the time , due to losing playing minutes, so they were presented with an ultimatum. Monta had just been paid and was considered a borderline all star.
They traded Monta for Andrew bogut . That trade turned the warriors into the team they are now . And they were much like the tigers a laughing stock up until then. Everyone had thought they had made the wrong choice .
My point is , having the asset is good . But him leaving and wanting to leave isn’t necessarily bad either . If we do turn it into 2 above average players , and he becomes an origin player . That’s ok too .

@Strongee Not having a go at Garner whatsoever. I like him. However, you never know what these slimey greedy bastards in management can convince a player to do. Matterson has gone from hero to villain in a matter of weeks

regardless of what the eels offer, no way in hell would I send him there. i would ensure that he gets sent to the titans and we get our player/s in return. The guy is going to get paid regardless, but if he wants to go to eels, then as a club I would bust my backside to ensure that he doesn't go there. guy can't get everything his own way

As the Pom said, the Titans salary cap is also in a mess so if Matterson is going there it won’t be for his current contract money ($400k??) it will be for much more. So I’m guessing if Matto wants $800k then the Titans will have to release someone on $800k.
That would put us over the cap so another guess would be a lower amount next year, more the few years later?
