@TigersBusDriver disagree ! Garner , has been here now 3-4 years . At this point , it’s fair to say he is a tigers player . Matto like Anasta etc are not and never will be tigers players .
This will be the third team he has had a sook about and left , either for opportunity or bad relations . The dude is 25 next year .
I think the Titans is the go . Arrow wants to get paid . He’s a leader , and Brimson has potential .
I personally think that the emergence of garner has now made the loss if Matto acceptable .
I have an analogy for you all .
In around 2009 , Steph curry was the backup point guard behind Monta Ellis for the golden state warriors . Monta was having a sook at the time , due to losing playing minutes, so they were presented with an ultimatum. Monta had just been paid and was considered a borderline all star.
They traded Monta for Andrew bogut . That trade turned the warriors into the team they are now . And they were much like the tigers a laughing stock up until then. Everyone had thought they had made the wrong choice .

My point is , having the asset is good . But him leaving and wanting to leave isn’t necessarily bad either . If we do turn it into 2 above average players , and he becomes an origin player . That’s ok too .

regardless of what the eels offer, no way in hell would I send him there. i would ensure that he gets sent to the titans and we get our player/s in return. The guy is going to get paid regardless, but if he wants to go to eels, then as a club I would bust my backside to ensure that he doesn't go there. guy can't get everything his own way

As the Pom said, the Titans salary cap is also in a mess so if Matterson is going there it won’t be for his current contract money ($400k??) it will be for much more. So I’m guessing if Matto wants $800k then the Titans will have to release someone on $800k.

That would put us over the cap so another guess would be a lower amount next year, more the few years later?
