So in effect....for the eels this year....they get Matterson mid contract and we get to play them twice at their home ground.....

I'm disliking the eels more than anyone right now.....

Cannot imagine playing our home game at Parramatta again if there is any other option. Surely WT management aren't that stupid!

where else would we play it? NRL wouldn't let us have it at LO or CSS

Next to the Easter Show and back at Homebush.

isn't that getting renovated? that's why the gf is at the scg.....
I would much rather prefer that tbf, but the nrl want everything out of their jewel of the west

It is still in the draft architectural stage and open for submissions, so a way to go before finalising, then putting it together for the tender process, evaluation, appointment etc.

Think Queen are playing there in February and Easter is not long after that, plus Pascoe spoke about it in the recent Q&A.

*16 clubs fight over matto*

while we know that we will be the perople (fans) who benifit :sunglasses:

It’s panning out alright so far

I love the thread title.

Matterson was unhappy at the roosters before us and the eels before then.
He's just a big girl - perpetual sad boy.
Woe is me... I want more $$ and can't fit in anywhere.

DAMAGED GOODZ

any chance he will stay?

If we don't get what we want out of it I suspect he will. If he refuses to play, refuse to pay.

Hope he ends up in the Riff..

I want Mansour in return..We desperately need a strong winger...

Nofa and Mansour would be insane

a lot of animosity against matterson, which is def understandable but he's got a great skill set being able to ball play as well as play in the forwards which is quite rare...seemed to add another option for attack on last tackle options. Opening up the opportunity to run the ball etc

Mansour's best days are well behind him.

@Milky Mansour seriously! Injury prone and definitely not what he used to be. That would be a shocking trade. Panthers would be laughing...

Can't force him to play, don't have to pay him either though.

It's really up to him. If he can't encourage his manager to get another team to come to the party and get us a favourable outcome on his leaving, he needs to keep turning up and playing. Otherwise he will languish in second grade and will ruin the prime years of his career.

agreed mate

if he goes we need another forward as a trade of, other than that he stays and plays. if its true that he has been unhappy since may, and he played so well maybe he will continue that sort of form if we make him stay.we really cant afford to lose a class backrower like him, I would be willing if incharge to upgrade him if he signed for another 2 years on top of his current contract.

@bptiger I agree, if its about money why not upgrade his contract?

Iam sure that has already been discussed and he knocked the idea on the head

Anyone who wants him wants to strengthen their forward pack, so they're not going to want to give up a good forward just to get a good forward, with the exception of a club that thinks they're going to lose the player anyway and figure it's worth trying to get something for them (like the Titans).

I'd be careful doing that knowing that he has shown his way of doing things... would you? I'd think twice and I don't care how classy or good he is... he could be like cancer and be a bad influence to others which has been mentioned on many of the posts above
