Connor Watson

And so ends maybe the most ridiculous, over the top thread in the history of the forum (and that's saying something). Over 40 pages for this kid. Really?

Good luck in Newcastle mate. They need you a lot more than we do.

As for us, can we focus on some areas we actually some strengthening in, like another prop and second rower?

Touché

3 years 1.8mil to the knights. They wanted him more and got him. Atleast we will have Nathan from 2019

I always had a feeling IC would go after his son considering Luke's contract "coincidentally" ends at the same time as Nathan's. If true, he would be amazing in Tigers colours.

SG you can't possibly know how much he signed for with another club… so why post a figure

I really don't understand how this league is fair at all and it makes me sick.
Teams like us keep developing players to only lose them to the big clubs but it rarely come back the other way. They don't lose players until they are past there time and have to sign with clubs like ours to cash up retirement. E.g is the Sharks win the comp last year and have a great squad however keep signing quality players and resigning heaps of others also. Dugan would not come cheap considering he believes he is worth a million a season. Most clubs lose players after winning a comp but not them.
Roosters are another club - Sign Teddy from us and still manage to resign all there other top quality players without the NRL even thinking something is suss.. Now if they keep Watson that is just another quality player they have. Try and tell me there is NO brown paper bags or partners getting massive paid jobs to work 1 or 2 hours a month somewhere.. Maybe our club need to do this ??

People can call me "sour grapes" and I know our club has been run bad for a while but I am really not enjoying watching the game anymore as its always the same clubs that make the finals.
We all sit on this forum just hoping our club is even in the conversion for a quality player and most times its just there manager using us to lift the price or the size of the Brown Paper bag..

I have said it for a long time now I believe all players should be paid through the NRL and there should be a cap on TPP to players.. Any money over the cap should be put back into facilities and juniors.

I do believe we are on the right track though and have full faith in Coach and CEO..

One thing I'll say about Cronulla, because I do agree about Roosters, but Cronulla have won a comp fairly on the cheap I think, kind of like Tigers did in 2005.

They have guys like Lewis, Gallen coming off contract in the next years.

And Bird having left covers Dugan really.

Cronulla's cheating is more drug related than salary cap.
They were also lucky to have Bird, Holmes etc play at a high level quite quickly in their careers before their asking price skyrocketed. They also had a few ordinary, low-priced players hit their straps ie Feki, Leutele, Prior etc
But they still had some high-end players commanding big salaries last year, they would of been right on the limit if not over it IMO.
The decision to hit the drug cheats with massive, insanely excessive penalties : ie 6-week bans to be served in the pre-season was a big catalyst for the Sharks success. It was the most pathetic punishment imaginable.

Oh dear another 50 page thread coming up….

50 pages we have over a year to talk about that one more like 500

Only about four and a half months until we can open talks on November first

Try end of 2018…N Cleary is contracted till the end of 2019 ...unless the Panthers have already given him permission to negotiate with a view to a release...

Maybe start a N Cleary thread in the lead up...Highly doubt it will come to that...Gus will insure he is locked in well before then..

Yeah and Tedesco reneged on the Canberra deal.. took less money to stay at the Tigers because he "wanted to play his mates"… no dodgy TPAs at the Tigers... such crap..
