Cooper Cronk Released From Storm

Why would Cronk wanna come to a basketcase team in us?? come on it will be the bulldogs for sure, and 2nd be the eels

Not clear on why Tigers are a basketcase but Bulldogs are not? In fact for all the turmoil at Dogs, ordinary result last year and bad start 2016, Hasler has just re-signed… imagine the drama if the results don't come this year and they've committed to him further (a la Tim Sheens).

Just because Cronk is moving to sydney to be with his fiancé does not mean he will sign with a sydney club. More then likely he will retire and go into the media

So why not announce his retirement then? He announced he was leaving, not retiring.

Just my opinion GNR4LIFE . I just cant see him playing for anyone but the Storm but i could be wrong.

ld say that he's announced it now so that Bellamy has the time to replace him for next year if he wants to bring someone in from outside the club,
And also to make sure he can pick up a team in Sydney before they all spend up too much and don't have the Cap space for him

Oh and Roosters, their halves are set already.

If nothing else, this puts WT in a much stronger bargaining position with Broses because clubs will now be looking at Cronk instead of Broses, a Ferrari instead of a Fiat, if you will.

Unless Broses want to go to Melbourne, I hear there is a big opening down there.

Being the Tigers, you know what would happen right?.. Storm take Brooks off our hands, he goes on to become a superstar. Cronk, despite not suffering any major injury setbacks over his entire career is ruled out for half of his playing contract with us and we're filling the gap every second month with a park footballer quality makeshift half lol.

Sounds like the deal we got with Matt Ballin.

Foran for me , save the extra half million , dump Mosses
Brooks /Foran combo and buy more players with left over money

I worry about Foran's stability, chopping and changing clubs he seems a bit unsettled still. Apart from this I agree he'd be perfect, was a gun on the weekend - first game back and I think he'd do wonders having him in our team. Probably one of my favourite players.

Personally I would throw the kitchen sink at him.

I don't care if we only get 2 good years out of him.

He could turn a whole culture around.

He is that influential for mine.

Post playing he will almost certainly he a very good coach.

This puts us in such a stronger position. If bulldogs go for cronk, we keep broses. if not we go for cronk. Broses price has nosedived 25% on this news. All good for us.

Only 25% I think you are being a bit generous.
I think uncle Isaac might regret telling Mitch to knock back the $800k from the Roosters last year.

Offer him money and the captaincy.
He is exactly what we need.

I would offer him more then Teddy.

Thesis not about turning around a team, its about turning around a whole club and culture.

This is a guy who had limited ability as a kid and willed himself on to be an all time great.

He is highly intelligent, driven and a complete football brain.

Make him an offer he can't refuse and give him a 2-3 year deal after football as well.

You don't get an opportunity like this every day.

We certainly are bottom feeders.

Who wouldn't be interested in Cronk? Minimum 2 years in him, yet there are those saying we should keep Brooks AND Moses??!!??

Imagine what Cronk could do for Moses game?
Imagine Cronk and Tedesco?
Imagine Cronk steering Woods and co around the park?

Sign Cronk and some other decent off contract forwards would suddenly consider coming here.

We may not get him, but we'd be crazy not to make a play for him.

Yeah imagine.. But….

We'd need some decent forwards and a capable defense though for him to be any use at all to us

I don't buy the defence stuff.
Defence is attitude and culture.
It's not about systems or players.
Cronk could help that massively.
His forwards at Melbourne have never been the biggest.
They just have an outstanding culture.

Eddie spot on mate. Cronk would be a cornerstone for something much much greater at Wests Tigers.

Matchball damn right. We need a captain and Cronk is perfect.

So you think he'd make all the difference if we slot him in on Saturday night?

Lol.. He's good but not that good

Where did i say that? Im talking about culture Ink.

Not week to week results.

Where trying to turn a whole club around here.

I would throw the kitchen sink at him for what he could bring to the club in a variety of areas.

For me he is the mot impressive individual in the game.

But thats just my opinion.

The interesting thing for me is the timing, just after Cleary and Hasler sign with both clubs having space in the halves.

If he had left it much later he might not have had an option.

That leaves the Wts, Dogs and Eels as the main options for both Cronk and Foran. Think you can rule out Eels as a Foran destination so that makes it interesting.

Apparently he is keen to come back to Sydney to be closer to his kids.

Thos gives Cleary the rest of this season to get the programme up and running smoothly to make a viable option albeit that they have to choose in the near future.

Really adds an extra spice to the season !.

Cronk IS that good. He may not turn water into wine but I'd say he is the most important big game player and clutch performer of the last 10 years.
Can be seen when he doesn't play for QLD we jump for joy because we know that not even the likes of Smith and Thurston can overcome his absence.

The biggest influence on Coopers career was working with Matty Johns early in his early years at the Storm.

Yeah need help with culture & attitude no doubt but what I'm saying is wed breed more players like him to help with this.
Cleary hopefully would be a start
Cronk would add to it… But they'd need help...

And Cronk is probably the best football mind in the game.

A smart club will offer him a playing and coaching deal -
