THERE are currently a tonne of Coronaviridae out there and causing a **wide** variety of insignificant and annoying to potentially life threatening symptoms.

The question really remains; where did this come from within the animal kingdom and why so virulent?

The working theory is that it game from bat droppings that were then transmitted to a pangolin, the virus circulated amongst that community until a infected pangolin was captured and the virus was then transferred to humans at a market in Wuhan in China!

The big problem with have is the live animal trade in Asia, it brings together animal from different countries and habitats and virus and diseases are transferred amongst the animals there. These virus then mutate while being transmitted through different spiecies and it is created a melting pot where these deadly virus can be created and then spread to humans!

China have developed a biological weapon which they allowed to spread throughout the working class. They have then sent the infected around the world, while they keep the vaccines and treatments to themselves.

China should be completely shut out of this country. Land that Chinese citizens own should be reclaimed by the government to pay for the treatment of the disease that was created and exported by China.

In relation to hiding the virus China have been reasonably open about the situation. My understanding was that it was slightly hid at the start but it was more the local province. Put it this way China have improved considerable in relation to transparency compared to the SARS outbreak. They have also managed the situation pretty well and as I said earlier probably a lot better than most (if not all) western countries. Compare that to Trumps reactions. Are you stating that he wasn't hiding the situation.

They do deserve criticism for the wet markets that are still operating but China but I'm not sure if this is even legal in China.

The criticism against China is a little delusional when you take into account how the western world is handling this situation. The western world is failing dismally.

It's good. We need to take precautions but the irrational, ignorant, uneducated and stupid reactions of a vast number of people in society are pretty bad. We've had a couple of posters on this thread display these behavior traits and it's pretty poor.

Sports all over the world are being shut down that probably didn't need to be if the western world was better managed. It sucks.

We do have to deal with this situation now and do our best and that includes fair criticism of China and the rest of the world.

The only thing is we shouldn't belittle this virus. Sure it's not that bad and most people will be okay but we need to stop this so that we minimize people at risk contracting this disease.

I think it'll all pass in a year or two and hopefully the panic stops much sooner than that.

My comment was made in the calmest, most panic free way possible.

I'm unsure how you can defend the Chinese regime over their handling of this in the critical early stages. In what world is that "slightly" hiding the situation?

It's just plain wrong for their government to have done this and to blame the countries that have been totally blindsided by this virus is poor form. Spare a thought for the people who've had relatives needlessly die because the CCP wanted to "slightly" hide the outbreak.

Many medical practitioners have said it's like a very mild cold and it seems no country fully agrees on how to handle it. Personally, I think this narrative is irresponsible too, so I agree with you on that.

USA closes cafes and bars, UK closes schools, Australia says schools should remain open. Everyone is doing something different...this just highlights we have no experience with this scale of illness and also highlights how dangerous the actions of the CCP were in trying to hide it as we were all unprepared.

Just imagine when this blows out in Africa...it'll be total carnage. They are totally ill-equipped to deal with something like this, then on top of everything else, we'll have a humanitarian crisis on our hands. The CCP should be applauded for absolutely nothing. But hopefully you'll be back on here to blame the Africans about how they didn't deal with it properly.
