Man in his 20s passed away over night

Unfortunately some people won't believe it.

Guessing he didn't believe in it either - he died at home. So pointless.

Yeah they mentioned it happened very quickly in the end .....guessing he may have had some pre existing conditions ....

None from what I heard, just a previously healthy guy in his twenties.

From his photos he looks like a typical healthy young bloke - not overweight or anything.

The woman in her 30s who died the other day had no underlying conditions either.

I'm not sure ...but a lot of healthy looking people can have conditions ...even being asthmatic

Hey Hap, you in Brisbane?

Gladstone

Ahk. Was going to ask how long you think the lockdown was going to run for in Bris.

Good question ......we have 66 kids under the age of 19 with the Delta variant as of yesterday in this cluster ...and seeing how kids act in my workplace ...... 3-4 weeks

Yeah I was thinking a month. No good.

I don't think we'll contain the delta variant unless we stay in lockdowns all the time which we won't.

Whether you, agree, disagree, or apologize, or whatever it makes no difference, the hatred is immense by the psycopaths.

Have a look at yourself.

If someone was telling people it's safe to jump off the Harbour Bridge do you think it's reasonable for people to be offended.

My suggestion is that all these loony tunes theories that certain people have been sprouting is psychopathic. They and you were a big part of this don't care about people dying. There is no empathy for those people. That to me is what a psychopath is.

262 infections in NSW today, 45 out in the community and the Premier is out of ideas...180,000 extra Pfizer does coming in the next couple of weeks.

I don't think if we had the best leader in the universe they could do anything. Society must take some blame for this as well.

There has been this massive disinformation propagated by people and it's led to people not getting vaccinated. I assume a bunch of people have also assumed everything was fine and just said it's not worth getting vaccinated.

We should have locked down earlier but I think it's too late now. I also think it's getting out eventually anyway.

Should this forum ban posters or delete all the nonsense that has been propagated on here. Is there a duty of care to stop people spreading nonsense. I mean it's killing people. It's pretty extreme.

This is a consistent and frustrating figure, and quite rubbery when you add:

+23 were in isolation for only 'part of' their infectious period.

+80 that remain under investigation as to their isolation status - the contact tracers are struggling to keep up.

And it's now in the Hunter region. Fingers crossed (still) for you all.

Dolly is awesome. Supported vaccinations from the get go.

I have just spent the last hour on the phone to my parents as they live in the Upper Hunter.

Yeah I was thinking a month. No good.

They have much better direction up there for mine, no going to Bunnings etcetera and discouraging online shopping for other than essentials. Just common sense decisions with little to no ambiguity, so expecting a much shorter timetable.

This variant is no surprise and something which I am sick of hearing. We had been threatening citizens with jail time for trying to come home because of this strain for Christ's sake. Forgetting the almost unanimous expert's voices, Joe and Jill public that had been watching the news knew enough to want stern prompt action and yet we constantly here this excuse from Canberra and Macquarie Street as inaction continues to allow spread.

That Queensland is now dealing with another escape from a long known inadequate hotel quarantine system, when if allowed they would have had at least one proper facility running months and months ago, is a national disgrace.

They want to talk about the 99% success rate of the system, when the reality is that it is responsible for about the same number of cases and by far the greatest cost of both lives and money. As a band-aid solution, fine though that it remains this long into the pandemic is a catastrophic failure.

Yeah it is very frustrating.

I said about a week or so ago that the strategy had to change and it has. The wall has been breached by Delta and we won’t be able to stop it with so much non-compliance. The best way to defend yourself against the virus now is to get vaccinated. Just do it for yourselves, your families and for those that medically can’t.

I'm not trying to have a go at the mods. It's a really tough situation.

People though have posted complete dribble and it's frustrating reading it and knowing the consequence of following that dribble will lead to people dying.

We're looking at it Earl, which is why we frequent this thread in particular.

And at times the flood of them make it extremely hard to assess and monitor.

Apparently a group of young people from Western Sydney illegally travelled to a beach party in the Newcastle area .. now Newcastle and surrounds in lock down .. time for the feather duster to be put away and short custodial sentences invoked no matter what the age .. these actions are putting life as we knew it in peril and putting life’s at risk .
