You and me both ? probably due to his views on vaccinations and the like

Disgusting scenes today. I’ve gone into Coles for bits and pieces the last couple weeks, but today was my first proper shop. Barely any meat, pasta and noodles ha good luck. Stood at the checkout for 30 minutes. I wasn’t hoarding or panic buying, just doing my regular shop.

That pales to the experience I had earlier at a supermarket around the corner from my place. Walked into to buy bread rolls for lunch, the line was back into the aisles. Walked past one low life standing in line juggling 10 packets of spaghetti. Honestly felt like spitting in the dudes face and telling him his hoarding won’t matter now. And there was an older man behind him who I presume was his father, juggling 10 more. When I lined up there was another lady in front of me, hoarding 5 packets of spaghetti. My blood was boiling. When it came time for me to be served, forum GNR made a rare appearance in the real world. I slammed my money down on the counter, and said I thought it was disgusting they let people buy hoards of pasta and left with them looking at me dumbly.

All was not lost though. When I was lined up in Coles, a lady in front of me, in about her 60’s, insisted I go in front of her as I only had a basket and she had a full trolley. That was very nice of her.

For those that wanted to know there will be plenty of food. Australia produces enough food annually to feed 75M. We only have 25.4M, the rest is usually exported but won’t be for now until OS transport is re-established. We are not going to run out of food.

True Mike, however the idiots won't listen

We did a lesser weekly shop and we went to Coles and not Aldi. The same thing happened to us.

Oh yeah, and the 12 year old looking check out kid calling me chief and champ and telling my gf his father works for the government and we’ll be in lockdown by Friday was also a highlight. How I envision Demps.

We tried Aldi first. Drove in and drove out. Bumper to bumper. Pretty much on opening time.

I was also going to state that there were limits on buying pasta and people weren't being allowed to buy more than 2 pastas. The funny thing is that all we could buy were red pulse pastas. All the normal pasta was gone. I've never even seen red pulse pasta before.

Picked up a 10 pack today at Coles. Came at the right time as a young bloke brought out Quilton bin 2020 on a trolley. A queue with lowlifes attempting to come back for seconds quickly formed. Staff member told me not to leave the 10 pack in the bag at the self check out as it would be stolen! Walking back to work was problematic.

Sigh, people suck. I have never understood how a society is supposed to function harmoniously where the individual is conditioned to look after themself first and foremost at the expense of others. Stupid concept.

What surprises me is that we are surprised by this stupidity

I know I will sound like and old fogey, but I have been saying for some time now the view that Aussie's are laid back, open to a fair go and selfless is one of the most overblown lies going around

For years now common courtesy on the roads, to the elderly, to teachers and others in the usual positions of respect is now long gone.
The Oz I grew up in is hardly recognisable IMHO

I said to my son that no matter how bad things get, someone always makes a buck; shares for Coles, Woolworth, medical supply companies, Quilton. Wondersoft. Pity about all the small businesses that will lose money or close and the poor workers. Qantas of course well placed to get a handout.

I thought I was going to be mugged on the way back to work with the Chateau bin Quilton. Drivers staring out of car windows, pedestrians eyeing of the motherloard. How far have we fallen?

Some idiot decided that ventolins, which for people who r not aware, r the treatment for asthmatics like myself

he decided with no medical training or anything, and posted online that it is a treatment for the virus.....abosolute nonce

What? That puts at risk asthmatics. The idiot probably mistook the use of anti malarial drugs which the Chinese trialled.

Global concerns. Generational changes.

We’re no less high and mighty than you may feel at some point in your life - just a different climax... think it’s a bit of a pot shot labelling all youths, learners and assistants as lacking respect, courtesy and patience pretty much. IMHO, we’re coming out on top, slowly

And that’s no thanks to any Govt. aid

I didn't interpret that as aimed at only youths, on the road every work day I see drivers with no courtesy for others. Young, old, male, female drivers.

This corona is getting serious. The gov needs to be bring in very tough penalties for hoarding now. Saying 'naughty naughty' doesn't work. They need to take it seriously, it's their job to lead this country, not look after themselves and their own financial interests.

Put some police at the supermarkets. Make the government office workers work from home where they can. I understand closing schools will deplete the workforce, (estimated at depleting the health workers workforce by 30% due to child minding tasks) which they really don't want to do unless they have to, fair enough. But there's a lot more they can do which they aren't.

As a society, the fear and panic is rising, I don't know if we can do this for another year??
