Sky News is nutrious for this anti covid stance. Especially Alan Jones and that other guy who was featured in media watch 2 days ago. Plenty of people believe them too. The other guy has a the vaccine's don't work agenda.

A major problem and growing now that they have extended their reach on further free to air regional networks.

We actually subsidise this rotten propaganda, which rather than operating as a commercial business venture, it is after dark content provided to create the narrative wanted by a former Australian that denounced his citizenship.

I think in addition to vaccinating as quickly and widely as possible, we also need to maintain a hard international border for as long as possible. A return to widespread international tourism, international students, temporary visas etc just can't happen any time soon. Certain vested interests were pushing to open up with some success - in May 114,000 people entered the country, which was a dramatic increase on the 53,000 who entered the prior month. I don't think people realised numbers were actually this high. I believe it is too high to properly cope, with delta especially.

Even Israel which is one of the highest vaccinated countries on earth may be going back into lockdown. Our greatest natural advantage is we are an island, let's not throw away that advantage.

The situation is becoming more alarming by the day. Those who we trust to know best are far from convincing that they actually believe the lockdown-lite scenario here in Greater Sydney is actually going to work. Gladbags seems content with the odd-200 or so new infections per day, as there is no plan to strengthen it. Instead, the narrative has turned to hitting vaccination targets by the end of August. And, to sell this shambles of a policy, we have to endure, on an almost daily basis, an increasingly politically stubborn Premier, an arrogant twat of a Health Minister and a clearly stressed CMO in Dr Chant. We're doomed.

If we couldn't get below 200 a day with the construction industry shut down, I don't see how we are going to with that back open again. Even notoriously strict China is struggling to contain a new delta outbreak. I am very concerned about where this is going.

Does anyone know anywhere in the world that is holding it back ? The UK is doing pretty well right now while allowing freedoms.

The lockdown rules are fine - it's the people who are idiots. I live in a pocket of the South West and there are numerous people simply ignoring the rules.

There's a park I walk and ride around - on Sunday there would have been 400 people there including groups of up to a dozen at the BBQ areas. There was an Ice Cream van there for over 3 hours. Somehow this doesn't seem to represent a good adherence to the rules of 'only leave home for essential items'.

Yep, there is a level of illness and death they have come up accept and it looks like we will be the same, hopefully only when 40 million jabs have been given.

UK is doing better than many had predicted after opening up, but 20,000 daily infections and 100 odd daily deaths is hardly ideal. And that is summer! Winter seems to be the worst.

Yes, three times via Crimestoppers. I was very happy when riding this afternoon to see three bicycle police heading there. They'd already pulled someone over for not wearing a mask and were checking her ID. I told them about the two lots of people with their picnic rugs out - the picnickers were gone when I got back 🙂

I normally stay out of here but thought this was worth posting for you.

Great. Well done. I did the same for a local fruit/veg retailer who thought it was OK to yell from the footpath about his "cheaper, cheaper" stock inside, with no mask and no concern for the people standing and walking nearby. He now wears a mask. Crimestoppers is excellent.

A poor old fruit & veg retailer desperately spruiking to keep his business afloat and you consider that a crime and brag about dobbing him in

Going better than I expected, though I didn't know that many schools were already closed prior to the holidays, nor that they were officially starting and unsure of the effect thereof. No doubt though that the warm weather is assisting.

Did hear that testing was down, with deaths up four to five fold in a month and ten fold over two, plus hospitals still filling, but either way it is crystal clear that the number of vaccinated is having a huge effect.

He still can I suspect, just with a mask on.

Just like you used to brag about breeching covid restrictions and risking the health of others.

You seem to have as much knowledge about history as you do about a covid pandemic.Stuff all

Surely you understand if narcissistic fools weren't out in a pandemic, maybe the fruit shop could open legally.

It's a simple paradox - the people who are demanding the most 'freedoms' are the ones causing the greatest restriction.
