Australia's frontline Covidiot Craig Kelly forgot to renew his website domain lease, with hilarious results.

That is bloody funny

It is certainly looking like our case load in NSW has plateaued, well for the time being at least and hopefully the vast majority of the community can keep up their efforts until vaccination gives us more protection.

On a separate note, with the aged care vaccination requirement upon us, there is going to be even more pressure on the system. The pay rates in the industry needs addressing immediately, along of course with other areas, but a lot more so to be done, even if it means wage subsidies.

Just back to NSW for a sec, what have I missed about the proposed home quarantine - why is it OK for the reduction in time from 14 to 7 days?

That question was asked and the response was that it is just a trial and they want to see if they can reduce the timeframe to get international travel moving again.

Seems crazy - what's the point of quarantining at all if you're not going to quarantine for the full infectious period?

Its a trial with 175 participants over 4 weeks, with the current numbers I don't think it is a great risk. We are not eliminating the virus from our community so I think it is a stepping stone to no quarantine for vaxxed people.

Hearing three fully vaxxed people amongst another dozen NSW covid related deaths today. If that is the case, is there any information out there regarding which vaccine they had and due to the possible bringing forward of second doses for AZ, were these cases potentially affected by the lesser efficacy?

If that's the goal they should just skip the stepping stone and go straight there. Quarantining for only half an infectious period is totally pointless.

Not totally pointless, but yes I agree.

Ten days seems to be more of a happy medium and seems to be functioning okay elsewhere. Though still don't like the idea of a short home stay until the community is well and truly protected, with new variants always remaining a concern.

Had second injection 4 weeks ago by young nurse at local VAC centre-doesn't matter which vaccine. The injection was too high on deltoid muscle causing bursitis. Can't lift arm sideways from horizontal without pain. Will give it time but am recording progress with my GP (not injector). If permanent will have to go legal.

Jeez mate, no bueno at all.

That's terrible Don. I have shoulder bursitis it ain't funny

We have more than that in common.

Is that so?

Hint. Sinigang, Adobo, Afritada . Noisy relations, Gossipers.

Don't you have to be double vaxxed + covid negative before you even get on a plane...?

You would think the chance of acquiring covid isolating at home than in a hotel with other return travellers on arrival would be less in those circumstances..

In no way am I being conspiratorial but I think there is zero chance of that being released

Agreed but surely non compliance will be much higher and impossible to police?

Seems to all be pointing at opening the Overton window to a “normal” future

Bear in mind that the people involved will be double vaccinated. That is a different scenario to today's quarantine where people could be either not vaccinated, have had a single dose or be double vaccinated. I think it's good to trial different scenarios.

Thanks champion @cochise.
The reduction in time just needed to be explained better - ie is the reduced time still NOT affecting the risk factor..
