I'm so impressed with our vaccination rates. It's awesome. As for haircuts I always knew you guys were soft. I've been using clippers for years. My wife cuts her own hair.

Tight arse

788 cases today.

State has hit the 60% double dosed target.

Targets as follows:

90% single dose / 70% double dose: 6th October
80% double dose: 15th October
90% double dose: 25th October

One thing I have to say is that despite the Federal government getting it wrong with not diversfying the vaccines from the start, the NSW Health department (and the people of NSW for that matter,) have been amazing in their rollout. From 1st April to 1st July this year, 1.788m first doses and 471k second doses had been administered for a total of 2.259m doses.

From 1st July to now (roughly 3 months also,) a staggering 3.983m first doses and 3.482m second doses have been administered for a total of 7.375m doses from July 1st until today.

Hardest hit LGA's with COVID are also the areas well below the state average for vaccine take up:

Canterbury-Bankstown: 1844 actives - 51.6% double dose rate
Blacktown: 1218 actives: - 57.1% DDR (not quite as bad as the others but still a bit below state average)
Liverpool: 1115 actives - 51.0% DDR
Cumberland: 1113 actives - 48.5% DDR
Fairfield: 606 actives - 51.0% DDR
Sydney: 530 actives - 46.1% DDR

recorded 787 new locally acquired cases in the last 24hrs

Oh dear! Anastasia no donuts today in Qld!!! she might postpone the NRL Grand Final with her hair trigger reactive ego driven personality disorder.

Shouldn't impact the teams too much I guess if it's only a couple hour flight away just regig their timetables slightly....
But it would be a massive logistical problem for organisers... Ticketing, entertainment broadcasting etc etc

And fans. All of a sudden your $100+ ticket becomes flights/accommo etc if you still want to go.

Yeah I mean for a state that's had less than 500 local cases and less than 10 deaths I don't think we can be critical of her south of the border.

Plus the hassle of refunding tickets and trying to buy new ones - Townsville stadium has less than half the capacity of Lang Park.

Fingers crossed, I scored an amazing seat. No way will I be traveling up there though.

It definitely isn't, but hopefully people remember that a big proportion of the increased vaccine supply was (rightly) prioritised to go to NSW and Victoria where it was more urgently required.

So while NSW are celebrating the rapid approach of 80% fully vaccinated, Queensland is now lagging (whereas we were *slightly* ahead percentage-wise in July).

Yeah mate, I have no problem with that, stupid comments like "Queensland hospitals are for Queenslanders" aside she has done well to keep this pretty much at bay. Hopefully she can continue to do so until Vax rate hits 80% in QLD, once that happens though borders need to start to be opened.

Except if your one of the unfortunate people she refuses to allow back into their own state or the Billion dollar loss to the GC tourism industry.

Maybe instead of trying to dictate to the NSW premier about temporarily moving the border South it could of gone the other way north to allow the Tweed and Gold Coast to move freely.

For anyone interested - **Homeless outside of QLD due to Border Restrictions** - on Facebook is a real insight into the plight and reality for some Qlders stuck at the border.

I believe that is (broadly) still the plan, but (certain elements of) the media do like a beat up (on the 'other side') don't they.

It's not, but once NSW and VIC are vaxxed, it makes sense to prioritise QLD next due to flights and QLD being another high population state.

Until then, she's doing things right I reckon. I mean they can go out for a beer and watch the footy. What have we been doing the last three months?

No I agree with that for the most part, I think people have a right to return home and the Qld government should have shown more compassion at times. In saying that they have managed to keep case numbers down and remain open for the most part, the next couple of days could be a real test though.

Oh for sure, stuff like that I think they could have handled better, I don't think any state premier has done everything 100% right throughout this.

I am all for people being able to return home (I was the same about people returning from India,) but overall I think QLD have done a pretty remarkable job of keeping the virus at bay. Their economy is probably doing a lot better than ours as a result.
