It would be the worst group of spinners to leave our shores in an official side
I think the batting line up has potential , how it copes with what India , its conditions and its pitches throw at us is a different matter
Lets hope they have worked on playing the sweep in 45 degrees heat with 85% + humidity against the best spinners in the world 😛ray:
The trouble is do we have any better spinners??? The guy who played in the big bash we imported from Pakistan might have been better the Steve OK. In saying that my mate who is a coach at the SCG says Steve OK is probably going to have more success than any of the other spinners in India as he skids the ball on.
Totally agree SC , we don't have any better , but we don't seem to be in any hurry to produce any better spinners either
Happy outside Warne and McGill very few spinners either offies or leggies have any success in Australia. Some very classy spinners over the years have very big numbers for their efforts in Australia. The conditions just do not suit that form of the game and that is a real shame. The SCG is about the only pitch that gives the spinners some help and that is nowhere what it was like. So it is very hard for a young guy to develop his skills when he spends six months a year on a hiding to nothing. I also think the bats they use today give the batsman a unfair advantage over all types of bowling.
Anyway lets hope Sweepson develops into a freak like Warnie because there is nothing better to watch than real quality spinners on all types of wickets
