It's the equivalent of a fourth/fifth day pitch Happy, offering a fair bit to the spinners, they're really getting the ball to bite.

Cheers Bogan Hope this rain delay hasn't help hold the pitch together and make it easier for Sri Lankans in the run chase

Great wag by the Aussie tail as well, 59 runs between Harris, Copeland and Lyon. Lyon has a great sweep shot on him.

Should finish this one off pretty quickly tomorrow. Hopefully these 4 bowlers can carry on their form for the rest of the series and we can finally settle on the attack.

Another dominant day for the Aussies in day one We rolled the Sri Lankans for 175 and we are none for 60 in reply Probably over in three days again

No excuse for the Sri Lankans either, that's a top deck for batting.

Harris was fantastic with the ball (as were most of the Aussie attack.)

Wonder how this series would have panned out if Murali and Malinga were available…

Is Marsh on debut ??99% sure he is
He is looking pretty good to get a ton on debut if it is his debut 78 not out Aussies 3-244 Hussey 66 not out

Marsh doing very well, hopefully he goes on and makes the century tomorrow.

I just hope the success of the young guns over there doesn't lead to the selectors getting silly and tapping Punter and Huss on the shoulder. I don't think we'd swim without one of those 2 in the side.

Won't happen. I think you'll find Marsh, Khawaja and Hughes are all competing for two spots. Punter and Mr. Cricket are safe.

Speaking of Hussey, hows his form, 1 wicket maiden over, Kumar Sangakkara… :righton:

No doubt, but the selectors are known for being clueless. I think all 3 will be long term members of the side, but they probably all need a few more games under their belts before we start cutting our experienced players. Good to see some more rookies stand up though, that's been one of our biggest problems of late.

Marsh in my opinion is the best of the three
I reckon if he gets his hundred he may go on to beat the highest ton on debut of Bannerman
