@Knuckles said:Did 9 wickets fall in the last session ….. The last 8/56 .... Geez I don't know ... Amazing !
@Peaches said:Well this was quite a collapse. A couple of unplayable balls for our best batsman (Clarke and Warner), others finding ways to get out playing on or hitting their pads (Khawaja and Smith), Watson LBW again!, and Haddin given out LBW with the ball barely touching the stumps.
Those runs Bresnan and Swann got were very valuable at the end of the innings.
Bird hasn't had the impact the selectors would have liked so I'll be surprised to see him play in front of Starc in the last test. Watson may not be fit enough to play so Hughes will find himself back in the team.
The Series has been very close bar that one flogging at Lords from memory. A 14 run loss and a draw where the Aussies were looking extremely good and now this match where once again we were looking good before a collapse on a tricky pitch. England are not that far away. I really do think despite what this Ashes series ends up, that Australia can win them back down here.

Yeah agree to a degree Peaches I think we lost the Test when we couldn't post 300+ in the first innings and collapsed so meekly
@WestsSupporter said:This is what Shane Watson's Wikipedia page temporarily read.

Shane Robert Watson (born 17 June 1981) is an Australian cricketer. He is a right-handed LBW candidate and a right-handed fast medium bowler. He announced his retirement due to injury after the 4th 2013 Ashes Test Match citing deep vein thrombosis, caused by being repeatedly hit in the same spot on his front leg.
@GNR4LIFE said:To follow on from my last post, i think what we're seeing atm is the Poms dishing out the same mental scars to young guys like Smith, Hughes, Khawaja that we gave to the Poms back in the 90's
The tables have really turned.
@Marshall_magic said:According to Anderson's autobiography there may be something beyond form to Marto's swift demise (and disappearance) on the international scene. He was a quality player though, I remember the 2004 test series in India where he dominated the series and was a big part of us winning over there. He'd walk into the team now, ahead of anyone in the top 6 except Clarke.
@Marshall_magic said:Marto and Clarke did play together, Clarke debuted in India in 2004, Marto retired in 2006.

This may have played a role in Marto's demise.
