Give me a Test anyday over pyjama or ADD cricket. That was a cracking Test and both teams were fantastic. Great to see Lyon finally be that day 5 winner that most quality spinners are.

if Kohli hadn't holed out they would have gone close to winning. He was seeing them like beach balls out there.

Lack of DRS screwed both teams. Surely they've got to be looking at it now.

It is the Indians that don't want DRS if memory serves

Money talks and they have loads of it cricket wise

Bugger them. Expel them until they're ready to get on board, let them play six thousand ADD cricket tournaments a year. They won't see any Test or ODI cricket until come around. They've got to learn they don't own the game. They've already shown they are prepared to ruin West Indian cricket to make a buck out of a failed tour. I know every country has their own interests at heart but the BCCI do not care for the world game unless they get what they want.

I'm with you mate

Get a few Tests when they are on the end of a few more howlers and they will change

Personally think from what I saw , we won out with the lack of DRS , a couple of decisions would of been given not out if they had gone to DRS with our bowlers

Dhawan was definitely not out in the 2nd innings and someone else was very 50/50 at best in the 1st innings for the Indians

Yeah but Vijay was out on 24 as well… Rahane copped a crap decision too.

_Australia's triumphant cricketers gathered on Phillip Hughes' 408 tonight to sing their victory song 'Under The Southern Cross'._

I don't usually believe in all this sort of stuff normally , but look at the sprinkler in the background

In the spray it looks like someone's face / head

Looks like Angles wings to me….

CB I agree....Watson has become to The team like Anasta was to WT...redundant

Smith chosen. I think Haddin and Warner probably deserved it more due to their experience and warners killer form. M

In saying that, smith would've been a better choice in terms of longetivity for sure. Good luck smithy

We are very reluctant in naming a keeper as captain , we have had some great candidates over the years

Marsh ,Healy ,Gilchrist

Warner issue is he isn't a clean skin I'm guessing and might restrict his aggressive batting

I just would of liked to see someone on field he can lean against when the pressure was on

Right person , just earlier than I would of hoped he got the job

He'll fix that once he moves to Qld in the off season

Warner is the attack dog, not really captain material I don't think. I think his batting would suffer as well. Smith is a student of the game, he's played a lot of cricket over the different formats in Australia, England and India. Has a lot of experience for a kid his age, and has the mental grit to go with it. You only need reference his batting to see that,

He'll be a great choice.

Naming Haddin now is a step backwards, especially if Clarke's future is very clouded.

Agree CB , just worry he has a lot of work on a very large plate both on and off field at a very sensitive time in Australian cricket

Good luck Smudge

Very happy with Smiths promotion. He's a leader, smart cricketer and a great man too. Warner has matured but you don't want to burden his game which requires a free mind to play. Unearthing Smith now means he gets experience with experienced supportive players around him, as opposed to starting off when he's a senior player in a year or two with some much younger players.

Well anything beats a 37 yr old. Wouldn't be a great endorsement for the future of Australian cricket if they chose Haddin.

Well they couldn't possibly put Haddin for the job, more than likely he will be tapped on the shoulder after the series.
Agree with other's very refreshing and well deserved, congrats to Smith

Really? How quickly things change. He was the toast of the town last summer. Chris Rogers is another one who oughtta enjoy being a test cricketer while he can. You won't see him again after this series.

Haddin hasn't been scoring that many runs since last Summer vs the POM's and it's only that other Wicket Keeper's around the Country are not playing that well to force him out of the job. We need to start building for the Ashes in England next year , i reckon give Peter Nevill the gloves after this series in readiness for the Ashes IMO

I believe Haddin should still be there as he is by far the best gloveman in Australia.

I'm a firm believer that a great keeper who is an average bat is by far better than an average keeper who is a great bat. Matt Wade can bat but his glovework is average at best.

Watson's repeated failures with the bat are more detrimental to the team that Haddin's.

One thing I hate about India is their inability to take singles. They mount pressure on themselves by not rotating strike

Probably learned that off Watson. No wonder the Indians love him so much.

I thought Watson bowled pretty well…but geez when he walks back to his mark he looks like he just finished 45 marathons....

And he bowls 125kph pies. Fair enough he's been economical and he's bowled a bit, but if the Starc and Marsh didn't go down injured he'd have been lucky to bowl 5 overs. By that logic he is seen as a genuine #3\. He is not performing with the bat so why is he there? Can't see why Rogers and Haddin are copping so much flack and Watson skates through without much (if any,) criticism.

He's not made for Test match cricket, only ever seems to score runs in the second innings when we have a comfortable lead.
