Cricket Season Thread

India has never won a test series in Australia. India lost this test and the series when they decided to fire up Johnson. Dumb move that one. Now he's angry for the rest of the series. He bowls much better when he dislikes the opposition.

India haven't been too far off, its their bowlers who have cost them with both bat and ball. Inexcusable to lose a test inside 4 days when you go to stumps on day 1 4/311\. They can thank their bowlers for not being able to hang in there and contribute with the bat, and allowing numbers 9, 10 and 11 to add over 100 runs. They deserved what they got.

In other news, i think Johnson's performance must have fired up Dale Steyn. He was wicketless against the Windies going into the 4th day, Windies 2 wickets down in the second innings. Cleaned them up and took 6 wickets in the first session.

This match ain't over just yet

We lose Smith cheaply and I can smell an old fashion choke coming on

Smith is crucial , depends on him if we are going to have a nervy afternoon or not

And they dropped the series when he was dropped on 9

Normally I'd feel like to retired internationals carving up would make a mockery of a tournament, but seeing Huss and Kallis tonk the Heat to all corners of the ground was amazing to watch. The Thunder might actually be competitive this season.

Off the topic of Australian cricket, interesting to note that Alistair Cook has been punted from the English WC team.

A shame, I quite like him as a batsman. He is class in peak form.

Oh,and how's the ICC's form fining Smith 60% of his match fee for a slow over rate?

They won the match in four days, slow over rate was inconsequential…

It'll cost us if he gets done again, we really can't afford to lose him. It's s bit rich considering how slow the Indians were going in Adelaide.

He must give a great gobby.

He is finished at Test level.

Unfortunately his 50 today will keep him in the test side for another half dozen games. Never has been and never will be a number 3 test batsman. Our only hope is for him to get injured again lol

We bowled pretty ok today. I swear to god that Steve Smith annoys me so much!

I've always thought he's looked smug. Hell of a batsman though.

Even contest after day one. Good bowling, bad fielding by India., I used to like India but they annoy me these days ..after then BCC started ruling international cricket. If one little thing doesn't go their way there will be an international uproar.

Aussies will still probably eek out 400 here, at least. These are the moments so far in the series that India have given the game away. The positions they've put themselves in, there's no way this series should be 2-0, at the least it should be 1-1\. But it is 2-0 cos despite all their ability, they have pea sized hearts, who when the game is there to be taken, they wilt.
